    Diet Pepsi/Diet Coke???

Are these beverages ok to consume when on a diet? Not a competition diet but a little less extreme body fat reduction diet? I usually have 1-3 cans a day just for varieties sake because I don't drink coffee, or tea. Any Imput?

id stop drinking all soda, i think it interferes with muscle growth or atleast i remember hearing something to that effect.. i used to drink alot of diet soda, the chemicals in it arent good for you. so i stopped and now i only drink water.

Drink Crystal Light.... much better choice IMO.... and it helps you get more water in for your daily fluid intake. But I would say drinking a diet soda once in a while won't hurt... I drink atleast 3-5 cans a week. It helps keep me sane... just make sure you drink enough water during the day that the carbonation won't make you retain water.

I've heard different? I've heard that a lot of Pro's and Competing bodybuilders alike drink diet coke or pepsi because you'd have to consume a lot of aspertame for it to become detramental to you. Infact I know that Jay cutler drinks 2 or 3 cans of regular(Not diet) coke every day in the off season and stays lean.

    Bump for more thoughts!

    LOL....

Actually coolaid just came out with some new drink packs that they use Splenda in... supposed to only have 10 calories a pack. I think I might buy some of those and try em out. I forgot the name of them.... but if you like coolaid might want to check it out. Sugar free red bull is a good choice too And it's "lightly carbonated" as they put it haha.

I used to drink so much soda when i was around 12 or 13 and totally screwed up my stomach. I think that was the only thing I drank that time, LOL. It used to burn as it goes down my throat. Gave me stomach problems. Now im all about water. I havent had a soda for 13 years. I always tell people to stay away from any kind of soda. So stay away from it. And yes im not giving you any kind of educated answers. LOL. Im jsut babbling about past experience.

    Thanks bro!

I don't go totally overboard with it, but I can drink 6 cans or so a day and have no ill affects. Note this is NOT at a time when I am trying to cut up more, nor anywhere near a show/shoot. I go to water and solid food when I do these things.

I drink a ton of diet pop. I guess you could call it my guilty pleasure I can't live without. Around here they have a 24 pack for $2! Can't beat that!
