TRT for 10 weeks, my experience so far

I'm 48 year old male, had most of the symptoms of Low T for many years, lack of energy, poor recovery, brain fog, depression, etc., Was tested a year ago and my total T was below 300, but went to 3 physicians and none would treat. Finally ended up going to a clinic and am doing test injections + hcg now. My levels are now in the mid 500's.

The most noticable benefit for me so far has been strength increases, by about 5% on all my big lifts, but this has tapered off a bit. I am only seeing minor improvements in the other symptoms I had, very minimal in energy level increases. I described this to my clinic doc and he said my numbers looked good and continue the regimine, end of discussion.

I'm a little dissappointed because I've seen many others with a drastic improvement. Do I have unrealistic expectations? Any advice from anyone with similar experiences?

Also wondering how one would change their training or routine while on this, my thinking is recovery is better so I may be able to increase frequency and volume a bit now. Before I would probably consider myself a hardgainer, any more than lifting 2x a week would overtrain me pretty easily. Now I'm doing a upper/lower split 3x a week, minimal volume but high intensity and am gaining pretty well but want to get the most out of it if I can handle more.

.5 cc's of test once a week injections, 250IU of hcg twice a week injections. My last bloodwork was done at 8 weeks, I got the bloodwork done the day before my injection that week.

From the clinic, they provide all of it, supplies and bloodwork for a flat monthly fee.

It doesn't sound like you're having any issues or problems to me. It does sound like you may be expecting too much too soon.
Keep in mind, when you hear men talk about TRT, often (even though they'll never admit it and probably don't realize it) the primary things they're experiencing are placebo. No man is going to go from full low testosterone symptoms to king of the world in 2-3 months, is not physically possible.

I'm fairly certain this has been said here before, the full benefits of TRT take upwards of a year, and that's assuming you are dialed in and stay that way, at least relatively close.

Also keep in mind, especially when you're reading online, many "TRT guys" aren't really on TRT. I'm not calling anyone out on this board, I'm speaking in very general terms. But if a man has a testosterone prescription, a TRT dose, blast with high doses periodically throughout the year, takes a lot of other hormones and items that he gets from this or that place, yeah, he may feel better than you, but that's not TRT no matter how badly the man likes to call it TRT.

Metaljeck - Thanks, I really appreciate your insight into this, I thought I may be expecting too much too soon but I have seen improvements and it has been worth it up until this point.

Free T at 19.8 is perfect! Remember it's free T that does the actual work for you, not total T so imho you're doing great. Total T doesn't really matter at all. Time to focus on your nutrition and training, and patience! You'll be fine.
