    Help with TRT, please read.

I am interested in receiving TRT.

What blood work should I ask my primary doctor for? Blood work at the primary doctor is significantly less then blood work with the endocrinologist.

How much does testosterone usually cost with and with out insurance?

Is the issue of sterility a noticeable risk or is that unlikely to happen?

Is there a way to get off of TRT if you have been on it for several years?

go the the education threads all the info is there.

I have been on for about a year. Just tell primary doc you have low sex drive and are getting lazy and you heard about low T
he will know which test you need. Then after a while you can ask him to test E2 and total blood count etc.

You can also ask for progesterone and hgh levels to be tested

with - is your copay plus (if rx is not covered by your plan), w/o - most meds included in a typical protocol should cost you between $100-$300 every ten weeks

Everyone is different, but the addition of HCG lowers that risk significantly.

Sure, but if you need trt now, you wont want to get off then.

Is it typical to receive a AI with your test. script

I know i can get those blood works done cheap with the exception of free test. which is pretty expensive.

I really am in a poor position. This is defiantly the darkest period of my life, i am depressed, unmotivated, and insecure, and this may have caused me to ruin an relationship with a great women. I know i cant expect people online to care, but it would be very appreciated if people could give some positive advise, direction any thing.....

You probably won't need an AI with a low TRT dose. Some use it, Some don't.

I was feeling pretty crappy and went to the doctor in the hopes that TRT might help. Turned out my Test was rock bottom. I started Cyp and things got progressively better. It takes weeks, but I assure you, you will feel better just knowing that you are headed down the right path. Then in three or four weeks you notice your sex drive increases. That was my "tracer" that allowed me to know the Test was kicking in.

Are AI's something an endocrinologist is likely to prescribe if I ask him? Or is this more of something only a shady doctor would prescribe?

My doc didn't prescript it in advance, and he knew I had puberty gyno. Once symptoms appeared and I called him, he did give me a prescription w/o an office visit. Never even charged me for the consultation.

With the symptoms you are indicating you not only want to look at the T (total, free, and bioavailable) but E2 (estradiol) may also be a huge issue for you. My baseline E2 was 4 (clinically speaking my values should have been 10-30 based on the lab measurements I had done). I was having many of the same symptoms you are also having. I total T was 440 so that wasn't bad, just lower than optimal.

I will tell you one other thing I had. My doc tested my Vitamin D. My level was 25 (30-110 normal). He told me to start taking 10,000 IU's of D3 a day and we would check blood levels again in 10 weeks (we did an my new level was 37). The next morning after taking the Vitamin D I felt a lot better. Mood was better, saw a decrease in craving evergy sources (sugar, carbs, and coffee). Discussed this with my doc later and he informed me Vitamin D is actually a hormone. It has a big impact on regulation other hormones as well. T is one of them! Vitamin D is dirt cheap. Something like $15 bucks for 60/90 5,000 IU tablets even at a high-priced health store. I live in the extreme north, so I see why Vitamin D was an issue for me. Plus I was 29% body fat. Turns out body fat soaks up the D and holds onto it.

So the trick is you have to look at lots of things. Consider the big picture. But you can get your life turned around. It will take some work and you will have to stick to the plan to correct the issue once you discover it. After you do, you will look back on these days and marvel at the huge boulder that has been lifted off your shoulders. There is hope and a solution.
