    Androgel and skin moisturizer?

Does anyone that is on androgel use skin moisturizer to help the gel absorb better?
I was reading on the androgel website that doing this could raise the absorption by 10 percent.

I've been on it for 6 months or so now and have not heard that. Company recommends just applying after showering when skin is clean and one would assume free from body oils, etc. That would scare me trying to do that. That scenario reminds me of an old product called DMSO that was popular for joint pain a long time ago. People would literally crush up aspirin, etc into powder and apply it to the skin with the DMSO to have it absorb directly into your body in hopes of better results. Doesn't sound like a good or safe idea to me.

You should try doing more research on DMSO then. They have been using it to treat muscle and tendon issues on million dollar race horses for years and there are a lot of people who have used it for 20+ years with only positive results. They also have used DMSO to deliver certain medications during brain surgery due to the absorption as you suggested.

Ive been using it off and on for years. I LOVE the stuff. It is one of the few things that has helped my shoulders and my daughter has used it after a tendon sprain in her ankle the doctor said she would require surgery. 3 days later she was walking without pain, a week no limp and no brace.

DMSO is one thing that you could use to probably double the absorption of the androgel .

I used dmso years ago in expermenting with delivery of some prohormones and even tren once (not my idea just trying for my own experience). For a while I was fine - then i started to get a bad reaction - itching, burning , redness ( in addition to the bad breath! *L*). I think it works for healing tendons etc as it allows increased distribution of corticosteroids to injured area. It can even be used to deliver some anti inflammatories to the injured area. I think its prob fine to use occasionally for this purpose but after my reaction I looked into it further - its really a solvent - can dissolve some rubber and plastics...i dunno if id use it for HRT carrier that i would use daily forever or for at the least a very long time.

I think the burning/itching is a normal reaction. I have always gotten that but it doesnt last long and worth the benefits IMO. They also make it in gel form now mixed with Aloe and the bad breath is minimal to non existent.

Yes it was used for a solvent for years, that's how it was discovered. Several of the people using it who had arthritis in their hands discovered after prolonged use the arthritis went away or at least got better. I know it sounds like one of those things to good to be true and I have never been one to fall for stuff like that without a lot of research or been victim to placebo effect but I know when I over work the shoulders (to often lately) that even using no steroidal anti inflammatory, vicodine (occasionally), ice packs 30 minutes on, 30 minutes off 3x+ a day when needed nothing helps quite as much as the DMSO for long term effect.

    BTW,

I meant to comment on one of your post I read a couple of days ago; or at least I think it was you. It was in regards to controlling E2 while on cycle or even TRT by instead of weekly injections doing it daily to make the Test spikes minimal thus less T to convert into E2. Makes good sense.

I can remember using it in the past (25 yrs ago) and it did seem to work on my knee. Matter of fact, your comments kind of encourage me to try it again on my elbows. Great to hear it worked on your daughter. I've got a 9 yr old boy who is always hurting or breaking something so I will keep it in mind. I also remember seeing friends apply it, then wrap it in plastic wrap. Have you tried that or know if that makes it more effective? Page 9 on blacksmokes attachment is interesting.

Ive never used it in that extreme or that amount. I always just use it like a lotion and rub it on until itls gone.
