I went 3 weeks ago to get my levels tested after practically beggin my doctor for the test to be done. I informed him of my reasons as to why I wanted to get the levels checked. I went back 3 days later and my total test was 306.

Stats:
29 Yrs old
220 Weight
5'9"
Weight training for about 10 years.

He was very reluctant to even let me see the levels and he said they were in a fine range with 280 being the lowest. I have done a lot of research on this and a 306 is like an 80 year old man! He tried giving me a prescription for Provig*l to fight fatigue which is a drug for people with narcolepsy. I do not have those types of syptoms at all.

I called the Endo in the same facility and taked to the nurse about seeing if I got a referal from my doc if I could see her. I have her a background and she said my levels were fine as well. I have excellent insurance, proof of bloodwork that my doctor has still not sent me, and I still feel like shit daily. I have read the stickies, but I feel like the doctors just think I am med seeking or something. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

the experts here will probably want to see your full blood work before making any suggestions. Need to figure out why your levels are where they are at your age.

Yep, full blood panel will be a must, your docs may not be well educated in trt, it's not uncommon, my levels were very similar and trt gave me a new life so take some hope but you have to get those blood panels from your doc and post them here otherwise anything we say would just be a guess. Hang in there bro, we all know how shitty you feel from personal experience.

you have the right to obtain a copy of your blood work, your doc refusing to give it to you is full of shit. its your health and you can demand tests be done even specific ones. don't let them tell you you are fine when you don't feel fine. the reason they tell you you are fine because they have no clue whats wrong with you and how to treat you properly. get your blood work results and post them here with ranges.

Well, if it's any consolation, there's a lot of members here just like you, who were, or are still being neglected by their doctor(s). I agree with you, 306 sucks! And, depending on your free and bio test range, your situation might be even worse yet. I'm not going to get on a rant with bashing your doctor(s), it's obvious they're oblivious to how to treat this condition ... He has NO RIGHT to keep your lab results from you, or to be reluctant with sharing them with you. Not much of a partnership there ...

I'm sure you will get responses here with members telling you to print out some of Dr. Crisler's stuff, and try to educate him, but IMHO I would probably just go see Dr. Crisler or someone of that caliber instead. There's a myriad of other labs that need to be addressed, along with some personal focus on your particular situation to determine your diagnosis, and the best method(s) to treat you. Please visit the sticky at the top of the forum to get a better understanding of what you will need to be looking at.

Browse the forum, ask some questions, others will also chime in.

I will be calling my doctor tomorrow for the results and have them faxed to me at work. I don;t want to sound like I am whining on here, but I have read a lot of these posts and it amazes me how similar we all are feeling. I will ensure I get these results posted on here ASAP. I would like to get a better understanding of the results I received. The stickies above were so helpful. At first I must admit that I was looking in the other forums for ways to get shredded, but then I realized I would never have the energy to even do it if I did go that route. LOL. At this time I am married with children and do not need to look like a model, but I do want to feel like myself again. Please stay posted as I will get these results up as fast as possible. OP - Please use the edit button on your BW post and add ranges; it's useless without them.

Also, you are missing a good number of assays to make any type of assessment; compare below.

What's more concerning to me is that your Total Test is very low for an otherwise healthy normal young male; it would suggest to me that you need further diagnosis (pituitary tumors) and more blood work (again see below).

Your Total Testosterone should be in the 600+ range easy at your age.

Need to know more about you.

Ever have any testicular injuries or other injuries? Ever use steriods in the past? Any drugs you are taking? More...

What you need tested:
• Total Testosterone
• Bioavailable Testosterone (AKA “Free and Loosely Bound”)
• Free Testosterone (if Bioavailable T is unavailable)
• SHBG
• DHT (perhaps) *Gel user especially pay attention to this.
• Estradiol (specify “sensitive” assay for males)
• LH
• FSH
• Prolactin
• Cortisol
• Thyroid Panel (TSH, FT4, FT3, RT3)
• CBC
• Comprehensive Metabolic Panel
• Lipid Profile
• PSA (age dependent)
• IGF -1, IGFBP-3 (if HGH therapy is being considered)

Your Thyroid is fine (first two assays) and Total T almost in the tank.

Again, unless you have more to show the panels here are very difficult to make any assessment of your status.

You need what's called a "male hormone panel" or the like. Those general chem panels are normally of little use in this case.

Okay. Sorry I was unaware of the needed tests until I read the.stickies as this was done on 12/6/11. So about 4 weeks ago. Not sure if doc will do that but it doesn't hurt.to ask I guess.

Tes at 300, obviously something going on, Im relitively new here but learn pretty quickly, listen to these guys, your health is num 1, get the bloods done and go from there. Mat seem like a long process, but worth it! Once you know exactly what is going on, you can find a competent Doc to help.

you will need to take all your medical info like recent and past blood work, medication, etc... if i was 6 hours away from him I'll drive there without hesitation. he is one of the best in the business. keep us posted.

If you have legitimate symptoms and blood work confirms YES you are guaranteed to get care.

BTW, Crisler will not allow you to post your protocol (every one is different and he doesn't want men to copycat his individual protocols) just so you know.

Good luck, 306 and considering your symptoms at 29 years old you deserve to be helped. At least if you get help from Crisler you know you are talking to someone who actually knows about HRT. Putting you on a narcolepsy drug is insane.... suprised a doc would blow you over and also give you junk.

Seems like after a couple years of studying every word said on the forum it happens a lot. Hopefully the future of medicine will take this more seriously and help men in need.
