    TRT protocol

After three botched appointments and blood work lost and incomplete.

Ill explain. I went to the doc to get blood work done for low T. first blood draw was rejected due to new software and paper work was incomplete. yesterday got to my appointment and this time blood work came back incomplete and didn't include the information need by the doc.

I clearly expressed my disappointment and questioned the type of office this was. The Doc was very understanding and apologized the whole appointment. He said the best course is that he can prescribe Test E based of "symptoms" and e evaluate with blood work in a month.

his prescription seem very low dose at 50 mg a week 25 mg mon and 25 mg Friday. I am not sure what to think of this guy. Do I ride it out now that the ball is rolling and assume once he actually get blood work dosage will be adjusted more accurately, or give up on this guy and find new.

I am for the first option as the second may be more difficult to find.

I am leaning on riding it out to see, but thought I would see what others think

    thanks,
    SGT

I'd want to see your full BW first and then make an educated decision. How do you know there's not something suppressing you that's fixable that would restore you to healthy, normal levels?

kind of what I was thinking. I think he wrote the script because I was pissed they kept f_ng up my blood test. it seems a pretty low dose so he want me to run it off symptoms and re do BW in a month. MY opinion kind of sketchy but it is low enough to try it his way.

Sarge if I were you I'd want to pour over your BW to see where the issue really is. I'd hate to enter into TRT and not really know the root cause of it first. Is it primary? Secondary? So many things can cause low T. I'd wait to fully assess BW before I made a decision.

I do like the fact that he's offering twice weekly injections which shows me something, assuming he's allowing you to self-inject. The dose is arguably low but it's always better to start low and ramp up than the opposite, imho.

You should really want to see LH/FSH, Thyroid to include TSH, FT3 and FT4 at a minimum, prolactin, cortisol, CBC, CMP along with TT and FT..

He seems to dose correctly if you can over look the fact that he doesn't have full blood work.

He believes twice weekly as well as hcg and an AI at higher dosages.

I will see if I can get a blood draw this week and just have the Doc confirm his protocol over the phone base of the results. I guess what is a few days or weeks to get it right.

thanks for talking me down. you know how it is when a dude gets a new toy!! hahaha

Regardless of T dose HCG should be used to maintain testicular function. It should start the same time you initiate Test. Use of an AI should be based on BW only. If you do eventually start up be sure you base things on your free test results, total test means nothing. Also on how you feel. Your not a number on a chart.

got with doc and getting in for blood draw today. he is onboard with waiting for results and calling me with dosage change when results are back. holding off until I hear from him.
On my consult he mentioned free test results is what he bases everything off of. same with the how do you feel method. he mentioned once things are rolling he wanted to touch base with a call just to see how I feel.

I am comfortable with this doc, he seems genuinely concerned on making sure everything is done correctly.

thanks as always for steering in the right direction

For what its worth completely agree, whats a couple more weeks? Much more important to know where you stand and once you put that needle in, too late...

seems as your Doc is atleast saying all the right things

    one more quick question
I picked up my script - don't worry waiting for doc to call this week with BW results.

I was given a 10ml bottle and based off current script I would use 1/2 a bottle in a month. pharmacist said the preservative is only good for that month after 1st draw and to throw the remaining away. seems a waste and it is the same as throwing cash away to me. Is the shelf life and over protective expiration, or can I continue to use after a month

    thanks

My first appointment with a Urology Dr. years ago, I left with a script and a form for blood work. I did have previous blood work showing me in the low normal range. As for your low dosage from your Dr. Do you look like some one that has had low T for some time or are you in pretty good shape where the Dr. may think you are up to some thing. many of them have seen it before. The Dr. I use now has asked me not to refer anyone that I know to him as I was fairly muscular when i first started seeing him, but had been on TRT for years and so he took me on for that reason.

Ok, well a 10ml bottle of test, assuming it's normally 200 mg per ml/cc totals 2000mgs of test. 4 weeks at 50 mgs per week uses only 200 mgs total which leaves a ton left over. I have no clue what they're talking about when it comes to their preservative. Test's shelf life is years....

    What concentration?
    A 10ml vial of 200mg/ml test C would last 40 weeks.
    A 10ml vial of 100mg/ml test C would last 20 weeks.

    200mg/ml is much more common.

    it is 200/ml
So the 30 days after 1st use is just a manufactures over conservative recommendation? Should be good to go longer than 30 days after first draw?

The stuff isn't milk. It doesn't just go bad. You'd need to see what it's mixed with but I can't imagine it being anything unstable after a short period of time.
