Have a few questions guys...
1.What is the best method in using a glucose monitor to monitor blood sugar while on insulin ?

2.What should the appropriate levels be? (i.e. right after injection and carb intake)

3.How can carb intake be "fine tuned" by using a monitor?

1) Take a reading three times a day.

2) Everyone is different. For a week before you start taking anything, take readings three times a day and record it. Then you will see what's normal for you. The monitor will actually tell you to see a doctor right away if the reading is too high or too low.

3) You have to know your normal level. Then you get used to different foods and how they absorb in your body. There are fact absorbing carbs and slow release carbs. For example, a jelly bean is a very fast acting carb and an apple is a very slow release carb.
