    Exclamation IGF-1 + ALA = Danger!?

    Is this true?
    Someone I know says so...

    Why does he say this exactly? Due to the sensitizing effect of the ALA causing you to go hypoglycemic more easily? That the reasoning behind it?

    As far as the studies go on ALA, especially R-ALA, you would think that the increased insulin sensitivity would leave you more hypo than usual. My experience with this stuff was totally inconclusive with both ALA and R-ALA. When I'm on slin I use a blood glucose monitor to keep track of my sugar levels pre and post injection. My numbers were identical to those when using insulin solo, with no R-ALA or ALA. My carb intake is very strict when on slin so my intake of dextrose and complex carbs is pretty much the same day in and day out. My numbers even remained constant when experimenting with dosages of 300-1200mg of ALA and R-ALA. My conclusion was that I would just stop spending the money on the stuff.

    its not dangerous in the least. I shoot my insulin , hgh, igf-1, and pgf2a in the same needle and i dont go hypo )

    My understanding is that ALA helps increase insulin sensitivity. ALA is an antioxidant that destroys cytokines, which block insulin and prevent muscle cells from absorbing glucose. See attached diagram:
