Best way to get blood work done??

Do I just go into my doc and request a blood workup? Is there any other way of doing this besides my everyday doc because he is quite conservative and would be very skeptical on my asking for blood work. Thanks.

Update: I just talked to a HRT clinic today and they said that if I have had a phyical and blood work done within the last year that I can request copies of that from my doctor. They also said that I could go to one of the "walk-in" doctors clinics and have blood work and a pyhsical done too. I really don't want to use my "family doc" if I don't have too. I did have blood work done in Nov, but I am not sure if they did a physical too. If so, the work has already been done and all I need to do is ask for a copy of both. If they ask why I am going to tell them that I need it for some new life insurance I am looking into.
