How long does insulin last in fridge????

I have an almost full bottle of insulin wrapped in tin-foil in the fridge. Its about a year and a half old, possibly more so my QUESTION is, is it still good to shoot???

I know at the pharmacy they will tell you to throw it out in 28 days and get a new one, my friend is diabetic and he is still using one that is 2 months old and says it is good, but a year and a half is pushing it.

Yeah i was thinking the same thing but figured i'd ask since i already have one.

i'm using one about 8 months old. The first shot i took my BGL before and after shot in 5 min intervals...its pretty easy to tell if its good then!

yeah they have expiration dates... as long as its in the fridge, its fine...

If kept at the right temp, it will last as long as the exp date says. I have been using Insulin that is just over a year old and it works fine for me.
