    Yet another factor to consider...

After findinga great source for GH at $2.30 per IU my doc did some research to discover that the potency of GH can vary. Apparantly GH comes in .2, .4, and .6 mcg per iu potencies. My doc emailed two seperate Chinese suppliers and found that the one that sells for $3.75 per iu is .6 and the one that sells for $2.30 per iu is .4. This means that getting an equivelent dosage of the cheaper variety means that you must take 33% more. Although the $2.30 variety is 34% cheaper, it is 33% less potent. Not worth the 1% savings! Buyer Beware!

Can your Doc give you the place he found this info, on 1iu have a certian amount of mcg in a unit? Because iu and mcg are 2 different mesurements, in other words an iu is an iu, an mcg is an mcg

Yes, but potency before it is constituted is different. Ansanome is .4mcg per iu. Jintropin is .6 mcg per iu before it is constituted. Genotropine Miniquicks from Lilly come in dosages of .2, .6 and .8 and don't measure in iu's at all.

    Yet anther factor to consider...

I don't know for sure. The two vendors were asked an open ended question that they could have answered in any way. They responded .4 and .6 respectively. I was looking at some leftover Genotropin Miniquicks and they read .44 mg of somatropin. This seems right as 1 mg is roughly 3 iu's. That would mean that Ansanome is properly dosed at .4 and Jintropin is overdosed by 30% at .6. Why would they do that? Maybe a great marketing tactic for very little incremental cost. If they think that bodybuilders are their primary market it would not matter if it were more potent. Jintropin seems to be everyones favorite. Maybe this is why!
