novorapid slin

hi there guys,
i have just got some novorapid slin (same as humalog), and was wondering how long will it last in the fridge. it states to discard after 4 weeks from opening, but im presuming that it is if you have it out of the fridge. so will it last tile exp date? im only asking as insulin here in australia is a prescription drug only, just like every thing else... any info would be much appreciated. thanx guys.

Hey mate, if you keep in the fridge it should last you till the exp date. I have had my Humalog for 1.5yrs almost, and it has served me well since I have taken the cap of it. Just keep it in the fridge and you will be fine.

Most people use their insulin for 4 weeks only, and once the 4 weeks is up they throw it out and get a new bottle because they like to start with a fresh bottle again. But the people that do this are the people that can obtain insulin a lot easier than we can. Insulin is a lot easier to get in some countries than other.

Like I said, keep it in the fridge and you will be fine.
