Twice per day vs. once per day

A friend of mine who won his weight class at the Jr. Nationals some years back, stated that he took subq 5 iu's twice per day for 1 week and then 10 iu's twice per day for a 4 week period.

If one were a very experienced slin user and had plenty of glucose/dextrose on hand at all times, wouldn't the longer duration of the slin (2 injections/day vs. 1 injection/day) lead to more carbs and protein being assimilated into the body vs. an IM injection once per day.

Yes, the risks are well understood, but in theory this seems to make sense.
