insulin and fats
Hi,
2 questions:
1) What fats should be avoided when injecting slin? All kinds? good and bad fats?
2) How long after injection can you start taking fats?
Thanks

I will be using humalog. So, no fats whether good or bad should be consumed until 3 hours post-injection? Can anyone specify what are the fatty foods to avoid then?
For example how about if you eat some kind of cake like cheese cake or carrot cake that might be high in fat? Is this something to avoid not from a bodybuilding point of view but from an insulin risk point of view?
Any input would be great
Thanks

No fats should be consumed, well as close to zero as possible.
Insulin is a shutteling hormone it transports nutrients around the body if you where to take a lot of fat after administering insulin, the fats you had just consumed would be sent to your fat cells.
We want to get in as much protein as possible, to get as much amino acids into damaged muscle tiisue as possible. You only want to consume enough carbs to prevent you from going hypo.
Obviously avoid high fat foods like burgers, cheese cake etc. Stick to things like whey isolate protein powder, grilled chicken breast, tuna, dextrose and baked potatos for carb sources.
