Just wondering if anyone caught the episode of "30 Days" on FX. Each episode experiments for 30 days on some goal in life for someone or some family or such. Today's episode was the use of HGH and Testosterone for anti-aging and lean muscle use.
The program really irritated me for these reasons. First, the guy who was 32 years old and 210lbs with something like 35% bodyfat was taking 1IU a day of HGH and 100mg of test per week. However he was also given 44 pills A DAY to take. These pills were such things as magnesium, creatine, fish oil, etc. The guy was changing his diet and starting to excercise and such. However, 3 weeks into the program he had abnormal liver functions. The doctor said that it was from something he was taking. To make a long story short, the television program basically blamed the HGH and testosterone for the liver functions when WE ALL KNOW THAT 44 FREAKING PILLS A DAY IS THE CAUSE!! In the program, the guy was doing weight training with a professional body builder who is obviously on every steroid out there and when the guy told his trainer about the liver functions and all that he was taking, the bodybuilder said exactly this: "Duh, 44 pills a day? we have definitely found the cause." However, the doctor blamed the testosterone and HGH for causing that which most any of you would agree is a bunch of BS when 44 pills a day are involved.
Another thing that bugged me. Before the guy started the therapy, he got his sperm count and all that stuff checked out. When the liver functions came back bad, the guy decided to see what happened to his sperm count. The retest of sperm 3 weeks later on 100mg of test per week showed that 99% of his sperm was dead. As much as this would suck, I do believe that is true. HOWEVER, the program forgot to mention the fact that AFTER any sort of test therapy that you must use time and other medications to bring sperm count back up. The mans wife started crying and blaming the doctors for "ruining their future for any other children" and all this other crap and it all just basically pissed me off and made me say to myself "no wonder all this stuff has such a bad rep, look what the media does to make it look bad without giving it a fair shot." And on top of that, who is going to make significant progress in 30days of those doses? COME ON!
On a lighter note, they wanted to show how easy it was for people to goto mexico and buy steroids so the host of the program went to mexico and they had a hidden camera inside a pharmacy and asked for steroids and they had an entire part of the store completely loaded with everything ever made. I got a huge boner seeing all that! ;)
Any thoughts are welcome!
Happy Pokin'!
