    slin pwo: whey + glutamine

    hey,
With the use of insuline i often read not to take whey and l-glutamine pwo at the same time...the reaseon is: "Protein shake has glutamine in it already, so if you were to combine glutamine that's in the protein shake with the glutamine you take on its own, it can lead to absorption issues."

But say u take 60g whey isolate theres only approx 170mg glutamine in it..that doesnt compare to the 5g glutamine u take pwo...

Is it an absorption problem because u have to much nutritions to take pwo?
I think it doesnt matter that whey allready has glutamine in it, its not that much...

    thnx for reply..greetz fred

i don't know what kind of whey isolate you use but mine contains 9100mg L-glutamic acid per 50 gram so i would think that could hinder the 10 gram i take pwo.

That is why you take your glutamine first, around 5g is enough, followed by a shake about 15 min later. That's the best way to do it. I am sure taking whey + gluta at once would still get the job done, but from what I have reasearched, gluta from the shake and gluta on its own can clash against eachother if taken at the same time. This doesn't necessaraly mean doint this isn't beneficial what so ever, it's just a possibility.
