will growth help with a bad back?

just wondering if growth hormone will help somebody with a bad back? My dad has a slipped vertebrae and thinning of nerves in his lower back. He's starting cortisone injections next week and I was just wondering if growth might help with any of that. He's 51, eats well b/c of my mom being such a good cook and goes to the gym 3-4 times a week. Im pretty sure he's gonna have to have back surgery within the next year or so. If y'all think it might be beneficial I might try and bring up the possiblity of him using it. Any comments would be great. thankx
