Blood Test Result: Low GH Level

Got bloodwork done by my primary care doctor and it came back I had low GH levels. I just saw a endocronologist and he is sending me for more comprehensive testing. My question is...

Is there any way I can make sure my GH levels come in low

like not sleeping, getting drunk the night before, eating before test, no sex/gym for a # of days, etc. Any ideas are appricated.

I have the best insurance you can get where I live so I'm guessing yes.

Well,before you make an all out effort.I'd ask ahead of time.I haven't met anyone prescribed HRT to get HGH paid by insurance companies.Not saying it isn't possible,but I surely would inquire about it ahead of time.

what was your level if i may ask??? i had 2 test levels one was 89 and the other was 6, which both suck.. and my gh was low as well it was 0.1 and he said that was way low.. he is an endocrinologist as well. he seems reluctant and wanting to go with the pproach like the gel, but ive usued it befor so im pushing for test by injection and gh. my only problem is that i travel alot and am rarely home so im hoping for something hell let me do on my own.

Having lower HGH levels isn't a health crisis.It's a natural part of the aging process.No one dies from having lower HGH levels.So insurance companies aren't going top pay for a anti aging drug.I think aids patients qualify for insured HGH.

I just called my insurance company and they cover HGH.

My GH level was 0.1 too I think. He said they were virtually non-existant. My symptoms are losing weight/strenght, being tired all the time, and moody. It could be just "getting old" but I don't want to accept that ;-)

Lack of sleep should workk. But you would have to basically get no sleep at all. GH is produced early in sleep. The first couple of hours during stage 4. Hope that helps.

Did they check your IGF-1 levels too? If gh is non-existant, there won't be any igf-1 either...

Got blood drawn today. They were checking for a bunch of stuff... test, free test, T3, T4, FHS, LH, GH (some weird name like saramorphim), estrogen, etc. I think I saw IGF1 too...not sure though.

Yep... had the rep on the phone... she told me yes. It would be a $25 copay for genetropin, humatrop, etc... not sure if that's per "vial" or per month but I do have the best health coverage in the area you can get.

My guess is per month, if they have a 90 day mail order provider, your co-pay will be the same or slightly higher. My ins. has one that provided a 90 day supply for the same co-pay as a 30 day from a walk in pharmacy.
