Bicep Tendon at shoulder is temperamental

I thought my juice days were behind me, but three months ago I hurt my bicep tendon where it joins the shoulder.

I hurt it in boxing. I started off by hurting it a little bit in sparring, and I would have rested it afterward but I had a fight scheduled for the following week, so I went into the ring with my shoulder already a little sore. When I came out of the ring, was shoulder was fucked and I had to go to a chiropractor -- I was out of training for a month.

If I go easy on it for a few weeks, it gets better and the pain almost entirely goes away, but then I go a bit harder on it and it's sore all over again. What does the most damage to it is if I throw a hard punch and miss my target (for example when sparring or fighting).

So I'm thinking I'll do a quick cycle of a month or two to try fix this.

I reckon taking Dbol at the start will give me a quick increase in strength, allowing me to lift a little heavier. The last time I took Dbol, I noticed the strength increase in just 2 or 3 days.

What would you do to fix this?

Not sure if you’ve considered BPC-157 and TB-500. They are great healing peptides and worth the investment.
My wife has had bad knees for years, problems (tears) in her MCL and ACLs, she’s done physio with no real improvements, she’s been waiting to get into a specialist for a long time. We were considering Platelet Rich Plasma injections but decided to give these peptides a try first.
It’s done the trick 100%, she has full range of motion in her knees again, she’s back to walking/jogging 10k.
She ran 1mg/day of each peptide for a total of 30days. After the first week she claimed she felt better already, I made her finish the full 30days anyway.

If you could only take one of those compounds for tendon repair, which one would you choose?

To be honest I don't know if my tendon is even genuinely injured. Sometimes you can tug on a bodypart like a tendon or a ligament, and your body just bitches at you because it doesn't like being tugged on like that. I reckon I have a minor sprain/strain but it's pissing me off because I want to box.

Are we allowed to openly discuss sources for peptides here on the forum?

These peptides work best together. For what it’s worth I’d run they together. BPC-157 is supposed to have stronger healing properties, but TB-500 has stronger anti-inflammatory properties
1mg/day of each is somewhat aggressive, but it worked well for my wife. I’d recommend doing some research and deciding on your own protocol.
Plenty of good information out there to read through.

Also in the FWIW category, I found 1mg TB-500 and 500mcg BPC-157 in a single dose per day to work OK, too. I say OK because they aren't "Wolverine's blood" or anything like that, but do seem to have a positive impact.

I have used Peptide Sciences and Umbrella Labs with success and rate them positively.

I also follow the same rules for peptide sources that we do for aas sources: names good, urls bad.

    I ordered a 2mg vial of TB-500, and a 5mg vial of BC-157. I didn't realise how little that is of each.
When the two vials arrive, maybe I should just shoot the 2mg of TB500 all at once, and then take 357 micrograms of BC157 per day (it will last me 2 weeks)?

I'm hoping that the water retention and strength gain from dbol will work wonders in just a week or two though.

I've always told people who have any kind of muscle/joint/tendon/ligament problem: 9 times out of 10 the problem will go away if ya build up the muscle.

I came off a moped about 9 years ago.... I dislocated my shoulder and got a hairline fracture in my humerus...... so I just took a load of pain killers and lots of steroids and kept going to the gym. Problem solved.

IMO, Dbol is just a bandaid. If you’re going to invest money on gear and nutrition you don’t want to hold up progress with injury.
A few $$$ on peps to fix you up isn’t working against you, if anything it’s putting you further ahead.
All your progress is lost the day you have to tap out forever.

The immediate relief you get from the retained water and the strength increase from Dbol of course doesn't mean that the problem has gone away. It does however create an environment in which healing can take place more quickly, and with less "two steps forward, one step back".

Even if all I had was Dbol, I'd still be confident that it would greatly help and have a lasting effect. I have more than Dbol though, so the other stuff will help too.

9 out of 10 problems just fade away if you just make the muscle bigger and stronger.

Any chance you're overthrowing your punch when fatigued? That will set a shoulder on fire and potentially cause damage.

    That's all I got.

Yeah I aggravate it whenever I throw a big overhand right .... I mean but that's part of the sport, you occasionally throw a hay maker -- it shouldn't wreck your shoulder though

I would run 2 mg tb500 2xew and the bpc is twice Ed at 250 mcg. That’s how I ran it for my shoulders

If I read that correctly, you shoot 2mg of TB500 twice per week, for a total of 4mg per week.
And you shoot 250mcg of BPC157 twice a day, for a total of 3.5mg per week.
    Have I got that right?

How long would I have to run that to have brand new shoulders?

I had terrible tendinitis in both shoulders. Could barely lift anything front laterally. I did it for 6 weeks and yes I ran tb at mg 2 x ew and bpc at 250 mcg twice Ed each shoulder

Go to an excellent orthopedic doctor, get an MRI that visualizes both the long head of the biceps & rotator cuff (the RC commonly refers pain to the area & it’s often times not really the biceps). If the RC is torn then get the surgical repair. If the biceps tendon is badly torn, not many surgeons will attempt to fix it.

Eliminate the overhead punches and watch your hooks. Shorten your hooks from the shoulder and arm and put emphasis on the trunk, pelvis and hips to generate the speed & power for all of your punches, but particularly those hooks. How does it feel with upper cuts, I always loved that tool.

I’m not a believer that chemicals can repair tears. Maybe a strain, but if it’s torn and you mask the pain in any way, you’re doing only more damage.

You’re young, fix it now before it gets really bad.

    Good luck FK.

Earlier today I was benching 130lbs, with only a tiny little feeling of discomfort in my shoulder. If I had a full-on tear, I wouldn't be able to do that, so I reckon it's a strain.
I started taking the BCP157 and TB500 today. The anabolics will arrive tomorrow or the next day.

I'm confident I'll have a brand new shoulder in about three weeks.

Stretching is helping immensely too, I can stretch my arm right to the end of its motion and hold it there. I reckon I only have a strain -- nothing as serious as a tear.

Are you saying that a tendon can have a tear in it without it being painful?

No. However you reasoned that since you can bench with little pain, then therefore it’s not a tear. That’s incorrect. I’m not going to go all smart -ass, Mr. Know it all sounding and give you the reasons.

One of my favorite creepy documentaries is called “You don’t fuck with cats”. The same applies to “You don’t fuck with your shoulders”. Not if you have any hopes of lifting or boxing in your 50’s and beyond.

I’m well aware that this is a forum dedicated to the usage of chemicals to reach various goals. I wish you success with the compounds and hope for your sake it’s a mild strain. However, looking at your age and the amount of years training, boxing etc? Once again, I hope your guess work is in your favor.

Dbol will fix it. I just need a little more mass and strength on my shoulder and everything will be fine.

I've been reading up a bit about tendon tears. Typically a person hears an audible pop, and there's immediate bruising. I never had anything like that.
Also I'm a lightweight, so I'm less likely to get the kinds of injuries that heavier people get.
I'm happy enough to assume it's just a strain, and I'm throwing the following at it: BPC157, TB500, Dbol , Var
I bet it will be brand new 3 weeks from now. In fact it wouldn't surprise me if the Dbol fixed it in a week.

Do all of you inject TB500 and BPC157 into the fat on your stomach? One website here is telling me intramuscular.

Subq anywhere you can get it to go. Love handles, buttocks, etc. Basically, anywhere you can grab and stab.

My wife did it sub-q at the site of her issues. I read conflicting reports saying they may or may not be systemic. We decided to go with localized shots just to be sure.
If you go local and it is systemic, you’re not out anything. If you plan for systemic and it’s not nearly as effective, you’re missing out.

Not sure if that makes sense but that was my thought process lol.
Either way, have you noticed anything yet?

My shoulder's still sore, but I think it's getting a little less sore as days go by and I exercise it. I can lift as heavy as I want, and it's a little sore when I do so, but it's not all out pain.

I'm not going back to boxing until I can say that my right shoulder feels the same as my left shoulder. If there's a tiny little tweak left in my right shoulder I still won't box.

I'm half-considering getting an MRI just to see what's going on in there. I came off a moped/scooter about 8 years ago and dislocated my shoulder, so maybe an MRI will show some damage.

    I'm on Day 15 now.

It's not an overnight miracle cure, but my shoulder is definitely getting studier each week. Today I think I set a personal best for chin-up's with a weighted belt.

At this rate of healing and strengthening, I anticipate that my right shoulder will feel and behave the same as my left shoulder somewhere between May and June.

I'm not throwing another punch until I'm satisfied that my right shoulder is the same as my left. So my next boxing match might be around June-ish.

Shoulder is healing nicely. Very little pain from it now even when I do the exercises that bring it through a full range of motion.

Still though, I won't box til there's zero pain from it.

Three or four days ago I discovered the holy grail for healing a shoulder.

You stand at the squat rack, and you set up the bar so that it's approximately at chest height. You reach out and grab the bar with your hand, then you get down on your knees and then you lean down and sideways. This puts an extreme stretch on your shoulder. Hold it there.

Then you get back up and you lower the bar down so that it's more like navel height. Grab it and get down on your knees again, and swivel around on your knees in a full circle clockwise, hold it there, then a full circle anticlockwise and hold it there. Swivel around and bend down in mad directions, putting your shoulder in all kinds of stressful positions for a 30-second hold.

I did this stretching at the squat rack for the first time about 4 days ago and holy fuck it had an amazing effect right away. I don't mean that it felt better a week later, or a day later, or 3 hours later. Literally it immediately felt better. Straight away afterward, 60 seconds later I was doing mobility exercises with 80% less pain.

I'm doing a few other shoulder mobility exercises 3 times a day, and to be honest the range of motion I have in my shoulders now is greater than it's ever been. I was actually amazed yesterday at what I was able to do with my shoulders lifting a bar forward and backward over my head. Each week I can get my hands closer to each other on the bar, and now I put tiny bit of weight on the bar too.

I still have a tiny bit of pain in my shoulder though, but it gets less and less painful every day. The pain is so small that I can ignore it -- and usually when I'm recovering from an injury I jump back into training at this point. This shoulder problem is different though, I won't throw proper punches until my right shoulder feels exactly the way my left shoulder does in its full range of motion -- even at the extremes like when I'm kneeling at the squat rack.

I only have 4 lbs to lose for boxing, so I'm hoping my shoulder will be fixed and I'll be able to fight in light welterweight in late May / early June.

I'm working on a petition to get the upper age limit in amateur boxing changed to give me a few more years practise before turning pro. Right now it stands at 40. Ideally I want it abolished altogether and replaced with a fitness test, but even if they raised it to 45, that would be a great help.

I read on another forum that people are doing 'spot injections' with BPC157. Like if they have a sore shoulder then they're injecting it at their shoulder. They're saying that the drugs is "not systemic". Does anyone know more about this?

My shoulder has healed considerably and there's only a little bit of pain left. Today though I got a new shipment of BPC157 and TB500, so I'm running a high dose for 2 weeks (the former at 1mg daily and the latter at 0.66mg daily).

Still on high dose BPC157 and TB500, costing mr US$63 per week. Shoulder still isn't perfect. Greatly improved but not perfect. I want all of the pain and discomfort gone before I start throwing wild punches again.

That's good. Take care of your shoulders. I'm going to throw out one suggestion while I'm here. Don't let the max power of your punch be at end of your reach.

    Keep on healing.

I sent in the request today to get an MRI scan. My shoulder has improved greatly and I can lift as heavy as I want with it, but I reckon if I throw a hard punch, and miss, that it will be fucked all over again.

Interested to see what an orthopedic surgeon says about the scan.

As a guy who works in sports medicine, the Bicep and the rotator cuff can be torn and still be functional. With complete tears, the bicep would be less functional but you could still flex the elbow if needed, not as good though. With complete or even partial tears, if surgical repair is not an idea for you then I suggest to strengthen everything around it to allow movement to become more comfortable and the affected area to be more stable. Agonist and Antagonist muscles need to be relatively equal to allow proper and adequate function. For example, If we tear and ACL and do not repair it, the Hamstring muscle groups must become stronger to compensate. It is all one big chain that reacts off of each other. As it was stated above, pain can never be the ultimate judgement. I have torn both of my Achilles tendons and I never had pain until swelling kicked in, Massive amounts of swelling, or after surgery for recovery. I would have it examined to make sure, but in regard to peptides in the use of healing the tendon I am unsure of.

I'm booked in for an MRI scan in the morning. I could be 3 weeks waiting to see an orthopaedic surgeon though. Of course I'll look at the scan myself but I might not recognise a tear if I see one.
