    pain in mid upper back

I was doing traps today, when I put my head down and felt a pain in my upper middle back. Cut my workout short. Feels a bit better than it did in gym. It basically bothers me when I put my head down. Any opinons???

sounds muscular. Could be you pulled a muscle with your head extended downwards, and when you put your head down you aggrivate it..

I forgot.. I do shrugs with my head looking straight ahead. I can see how you could mess it up.

not at all. it happens to me once or twice a year. ice for 20 minutes 3-5 times a day, take some motrin no more than 400mg twice per day and rest. in 2-3 wks you should be 100%.

400mg BID? Why lower dose than 800 TID?

    i don't know what i was thinking. good catch. 800mg 3 times a day.

as for working out, you can but keep light until you heal and avoid things that make it worse or isolate the shoulder muscles
