What exactly did you tear? Is it a complete tear?

Thanks for the replies guys Think I'll have to get second opinion, she just felt along the bones in my shoulder an put some pressure to see where the pain was coming from then have me straighten my arm an push up against hers then turn my hand with thumb facing down an did the same again then just said it was a torn tendon and give me ibuprofen max strength gel to rub on it an some pain killers ?

Sounds like she did Obrien's test. If you failed it, that's an indication that there is likely a labral tear. An MRI with arthrogram is needed to make a diagnosis though.

Your doctor sounds clueless. Rest and ibuprofen will not fix a torn labrum. The only thing that actually fixes one is surgery. Small tears can be managed with physical therapy, but it will never heal on its own.

Go see a shoulder specialist for sure.
