    bicep tendonitis

Does anyone have any suggestions? I have stopped doing biceps. The pain hasn't increased but it's not going away.

Thanks MS. Icing is definitely helping. I think it's making the area numb.

np, icing helps facilitate the movement of fluids in and out of a not so vascular tissue. Yes it feels good, but when it reduces inflammation and pushes fluids out. When it reheats, it brings fluids in, which help remove waste products and increase nutrients.

Are you referring to the actual bicep or radialis?

It has improved but I tried curling with 10lbs and the pain came back.

It hurts even when my brush my teeth because I hold my arm in one position.

I came across some therapeutic clinics that suggest taking injections. Any thoughts on this?

    Thanks in advance.

I'm dealing with this now, same damn muscle, I can barely curl, do bent over rows etc. I'm losing a lot of hard work.

Every time I come off cycle about a month or two after I start hurting, I fight through it till my next blast then the pain goes away, this time it's the worst tho.

I've taken out hammer curls, ligtented up my lat pull downs etc but it just hurts like hell.

As already has been said, ice, heat, rest and stretching. You can also try some deep massage of the muscle. You can have someone do it or do it yourself. It's probably going to be sore and tender but go as deep as you can to break up any adhesions and scar tissue. It's still going to take a few weeks to heal. Remember every time you pick up something it's aggravating the muscle so try to work around any pain as much as possible.

Hi Kel, I didn't look into the details coz I am improving by letting it rest. I am trying to research possible options incase it doesn't heal 100%.

Are plasma injections safe and long term?

    Thanks.

I have delayed my cycle for this reason. I don't want to mask the pain.

I haven't done back and biceps in 5 weeks so my pain is significantly less but I have lost some muscle.

I will try everything that people suggest here and keep you posted. If you come across anything please let me know.

I´ve been dealing with a bicep injury since last month. I had to stop workout and lost some muscle. I went to doctor and he recommended plasma injections since (in his opinion and experience) are very effective. So, last week I injected in the injury area (very painful by the way) near the elbow. I Must let it rest for three weeks But I´ve been feeling better. I will let you know guys about the progress, But so far, I can say plasma injections are a very good idea.

Just curious, is this muscle highlighted because this is the region of your pain?

Quick way to help rule out if it's biceps vs. brachialis - resisted supination (palm down to palm up) of the forearm. Biceps supinates, brachialis does not, brachialis just flexes the elbow. Just be sure its pure supination and absolutely no elbow flexion is involved.

Also curious, what did you inject near the elbow? Was it Test? Thought I've seen articles indicating that testosterone can be detrimental to tendons or tendon healing.

Sorry for the late response. For some reason I couldn't post anything.

Yes the area indicated is where the pain is. I didn't inject anything - it randomly started and kept getting worse.

I still have done biceps in almost 2 months but there is less improvement than I want.

The diagram isn't really too anatomically correct, the biceps generally extends lower, but with that said there could be three muscles that are the cause: biceps, brachialis and brachioradialis, because in that area they are so close to each other and sometimes pain radiates away from the injured site.

I think you meant to say that you hadn't done biceps in two months, which should have gotten you better relief. I'd seek out a qualified orthopedist and a physical therapist to more accurately diagnose this, this has been going on for too long in my opinion.

    Thanks man.

I agree that I should get professional help.

I will post an update soon.
