I hate the smith for chest, it jacks up my shoulders.

I like the smith once and a while, sometimes i use it to get a burn out of higher rep sets, and heavy close grip

The Smith worked wonders for me when i was rehabbing my slap tear. It was the only way i could do flat bench.
I still use it now... but only at the very end of my work-out. I go really light (wide grip) and lift until failure.

I used it today, love it and will continue to do so......I can use more weight, not worry about a spot, have fully peak contraction on my pecs, etc.......however, I can tell it has the capabilities of wrecking havoc on the cuffs.....I might just need to give up flat bench for a little while and revisit it later on.......we'll see how it feels next week but today was a good session.....

Note: The Smith Machine barbell only weighs 10 or 15lbs.

I'm using the smith cause of a shoulder injury. I hate it.
You will be able to lift more weight... that is for sure. but I wouldn't use the smith machine ever for press if I wasn't injured...

Why is it in this forum?
It makes the ROM for you, its not your own natural path. Don't like it..
