I mean people talk about eating big to gain...but it just doesn't feel right to eat big and do nothing all day except for an hour long workout.

I mountain bike on the weekends for a couple of hours a day if that helps at all.
I do nothing all day as well, i train 3-4 days a week at the most 2.5-3.5hours per week and still eat lots, i preffer protein fat meal if you don't do much as the body will drew on fat reserves and fat from food for energy while not being Physically active...you still must eat to grow, it's not the workout that make you big, it's the food, i bet you i can gain more muscle sitting at home eating and not training then the other way around...XXL

You're not taking into account a person metabolism. I sit in front of a computer all day. I eat over 5000 cals and workout 1 hour 5 days a week and I STILL have a hard time gaining weight. I have to eat high cals/dirty foods to make gains because I burn so many calories sitting in front of my computer doing nothing.
