It's not a myth. I've been bodybuilding on and off since I was about 14. I say on and off because I was forced to quit for one reason or another on 5 separate occassions. Sometimes the time away was only 6 months and other times, it was as much as 2 years. The last time I took a break and came back, it was over 2 years and I got everything back and then some in 6 months.

This was my first post BTW...

Nice, but why would you stop training upper body because of knee surgery?

I had double patella tendon rupture repairs, and was in the gym hittin upper body as much as I could until I could train legs many many months later. I was in leg immobilizers the entire time, had to have 2 people take me to and from the gym to assist me, but I'd have it no other way.

Nice job gettin' your body back in any event!

I was depressed too, believe me. However laying around only would make me kill someone due to depression and letting myself go, and my inner being would never let that happen. Many thought I was totally insane for what I did, but now they see exactly why I did it.

Way to go bro, happy for ya.
