No reason to flame bro, you we're in an accident and you haven't had the chance to train like you would have liked. No shame in that. Good luck with the recovery.
I don't know your goals really so I can't comment on whether to bulk or cut. Also, you say you have surgery coming up so it's tough to get into a real routine. You will prob be losing weight post-surgery so I would read up on a good bulking routine for when you get back at it. Good luck bro.

    Bulk then cut.

and do what ever you can pre and post surgery.
Recovery is VERY important so make sure you do all your physical therapy!!!

I know how it is dude.
Its hard geting back but it can be done if you set your mind to it and have a little patience.

You have to be responsible and take care of your body or otherwise you will go one step foreward and 10 steps backwards!!

    Good luck!

Depends on what your looking for bro. If you cut than you would have a pretty respectable shape with the fram you have already. But if you want your basic shape to be much bigger then bulk first

Not a flame but you have nothing to cut down to, if you "cut" you will simply just look starving. You need to bulk for sure, especially since you've only been training three months. Check out the bulking sticky in the diet forum by LeanMeOut.

You got to tell us what you want to look like bro!

You see if you just want to look lean and strong then I would just work out to be in shape, like do lots of cardio and hit the weights and eat good and you will get there.

If wou want to look big and ripped then bulk then cut...ect ect
You have a decent frame I guess, Hard to tell from the pics.

You definitly need to work on your neck and forearms theyare really skinny. Your lats are laking as well compared to the rest of your body. You have a long torso so work the hell out of your abs it will help your physique look better not to mention your posture!

    Thanks for the critique phw,
i want to be around 230 and look 'in shape' (a defined mild 6 pack)

I wont be able to go to the gym much after surgery but am encouraged to jog for 3 weeks (something about cartalidge having no blood supply) so i am probably going to do that and then bulk while maintaining 3x week cardio.

Everything needs to be brought up, but i think my arms are too small for my body, shoulders need more meat and my lats are lacking...

    all critiques, info is welcome

    thanks guys

don't be disheartened bro... you've admittedly just starting training.

If 230 is your goal... and you acknowledge that it is realistically a long-term goal..start working towards it...i.e. start 'bulking'

Just don't use it as an excuse to get obese

It will take you about a year if you follow rehab right, to get back to normal.

I know exactly what you are talking about.
I was walsking around lopsided in great amounts of pain for about 6 months before doctors knew I had a ruptured disc and it was impinging on the central nerve.
