I fell short of my goals and now I'm back to try again.
I lost all of my muscle, gained all the fat back and then some.
Did not touch a weight for a year and ate very dirty.
I started on 7-9-08 changed diet and started lifting again.
This is my progress of approximately 10 weeks.
more pic
picture names are the dates when pic was taken.
I need some pointers on what to do now. I think I'm at a plateau.
My diet is this.
6 egg whites
1/2 cup oats
3oz tuna
protein shake w/1tblsp flax
6oz tuna
1 cup brocolli
1/2 cup brown rice
6oz chicken breast
1 cup brocolli
protein shake
workout
6oz tuna
1 cup plain pasta
protien shake
I've been eating this now for 11-12 weeks with 1 cheat day a week consisting of 3 or 4 chicken strips/fries and maybe a coke.
I do no cardio but my workouts are very intense.
I mix up low weight-more reps/ heavy weight-less reps every other week.
My goals are the same. Cut BF, keep/gain lean tissue.
Anyone have a plan for me from here out?
Thanks,
big rig
right now I'm 275lbs and approx 32% BF
why the new user name bro?
do twenty mins cardio 3 times a wk in a morning and stick with it nobody turns into arnold in 3 months. or use loads of growth!!!
well dont cheat just for the sake of it, if crap food is making you feel ill, just have a cheat when you fancy it, but ONLY once a wk, keep your protein high and no you wont lose no muscle just dont go over kill with the training, to lose bf quicker, you wont just muscle aswell. 20 mins in a morning if you can as soon as your awake, the point of this is your running/jogging/what ever cardio, on an empty stomach so you will burn fat and not what you have just eaten, just stick with it and lay off any alcohol.
Heres my advice.....
1) up the cals. You will lose more muscle than imaginable.
2) DON'T CHEAT. Have a carb up day (good/low GI carbs at least 1x/wk, depending on not if you carb/cal cycling).
3) Once you feel you have plateaued and you don't want to lower cals anymore, add cardio beginning 3 days/wk for 30min in the am. When you feel yourself plateau, up the cardio to 4-5 days/wk for 45min in the am. Again, when you plateaued keep the 4-5 days/wk for 45min then add in PWO cardio for 20-30min 3 days/wk.
4) Stay away from AAS.
5) Stay disciplined, you have to want it more than anything.
eating high protien wont neccessarily stop you from losing muscle, eating CARBS will stop you from losing muscle and u need to get at least 100carbs to prevent muscle breakdown, reason for this being: the brain and spinal cord can ONLY work using sugar as energy, if sugar is not available (carbs), the body is forced to use protien to power your brain and spinal cord, BUT it CANNOT process the protien you have just ate, the body ONLY breaks down the protien that is already in your muscle, thus causing muscle loss.
you definitely need lots of cardio AFTER you work out. take BCAA's before you run to make sure your body doesnt break down muscle.
well yes and no.
eating just carbs w/ no protein = bye bye muscle.
You can't just say 100g carbs/ed is the universal # for everyone....I would lose a rediculous amount of muscle. When I'm cutting, I'm eating anywhere from 350-400g carbs/ed.....and I don't have a fast metabolism.
Lots of cardio after workout?? why? sure cardio helps but I know a lot of guys who can get cut with eating properly and lifting.
I increased my calories.
30min cardio 3 x wk
258lbs
What do you think?
Thanks,
Looking thick bro, keep doing what your doing
nice traps!
Thank you for an honest opinion.
Most people think I'm fat. However, I'm not AS fat as I was 5 months ago.
Look at the first picture I posted on 9-25. That pic was taken in July. Very ugly pic and hesitated to post it. But it's a reference point to judge progress.
Read the entire post. I fell off routine due to some personal things going on in my life. I just recently got back to it.
I was asking for advice on diet and a possible cardio routine.
In 2 months when I post more pics I want your opinion again. Thanks.
Thanks. Unfortunately I think the thick look will go away when BF comes off. Or maybe not, I'm not sure. I'm as big as I've ever been and a lot more disciplined now.
I'm happy so far because BF is lowering and I'm gaining mass at the same time which is hard to do from what I hear.
