Are you taller than other men in your family? You might wanna go to the doctor and get yourself screened for Marfans Syndrome. Two of the more overt signs of Marfans are an increase in stature (compared to your genetic kin) and a slightly sunken chest. Marfans patients have a tendency toward suddenly dying from ruptured aorta.

My chest isn't sunken, there is a hole under the chest..

I don't think there are any muscles located there that will really fill it in. The lower innner pecs seem to have a certain genetic predisposition for shape. I have one side that is full all the way down, and my other side looks like it has a small chunk missing where it ties in by the sternum. I think it's just the nature of the beast. Working on your lower pecs may make the hole you are talking about less obvious.

Dude its your body's natural composition. Each person's development is different. As your abs and chest get larger that area will show more as a "hole." However, some may consider that quite cool. Make the best of it.
    MM

PS One kid I train has the exact same thing and he has just gotten two modeling jobs in the past month! No worries.

Sorry, now that I've found my bifocals and looked again, I agree with the other posters -- it's just the way your pecs are attached to your sternum. If you look around, you'll find plenty of pictures of successful pro bodybuilders who have bigger gaps than that. It's no BFD.

It's hard to tell from your pic, but I suspect you may have "pectus excavatum".

I had the opposite, "pectus carinatum", which is a bump on the chest. It is a result of the ribs being curved. I lived with embarrassment for years. It was quite prominent - so much so that if I wore a t-shirt people would ask me about it; it looked like I was hiding something under my shirt. Even doctors would ask me about it! It was finally diagnosed at age 15 and we arranged for surgery immediately. The surgeon said I had a "classic" case. Before surgery, photos were taken, and it wasn't until years later that I realized that photography is not a normal part of preparation for surgery. I am probably in a medical text or journal somewhere...

The surgeon said these conditions are rare, although I think it is more common than people realize. I think it often goes undiagnosed. I mean, for 15 years I saw many doctors who had no clue.

FYI: the surgeon I had was excellent, and he pointed out that some doctors feel that these conditions can have an impact on the heart, but he didn't believe that (I don't either).

To be sure, you would have to see a specialist - a doctor who knows the condition. If that is what you have, then surgery is an option. But it looks like you really don't have to worry. It's hard to tell in your pic, which says to me it's not a severe case. Plus, you are building muscle over it, which will make it increasingly less noticeable.

I went to school with a couple of kids that had that and we simply called them bird chest. Living in the south I see it even more since going without a shirt is the norm in hot weather

I wouldn't worry about it, like stated above (and 3 years ago) it's just the way you are made.
