I know the guy at the first pic and the guy from S. Africa (gerret I guess) The young guy who holds the paint buckets is the champion of World's Strongest Man 2000.

When was this event, and who won?

It was on 18th of May 2002, Janne Virtanen won. This Janne guy is very strong. I talked to him he is very nice, so is Gerrit. Giants with golden hearts.
Janne has a big tattoo on his arm saying World's Strongest Man Champion 2000. That's really cool thing to have. Very few people can have that honor.
I heard that it is going to be on Eurosport channel soon with full coverage.
