    New Member Pics and Intro

    Sup everyone,

Been reading for about six months so I figured I might as well sign up and join the fun. A little bit about myself, I'm 23 and I've been lifting on and off since I was about 12. By on and off I mean 3 months on followed by 9 months of eating chips and drinking beer I've signed up for more gyms than anyone I know but never seemed to make it pass the 6 month mark. This left me looking the way I did on the left and stayed that way till March of 2002 when I finally started reading about nutrition and lifting consistently.

The picture on the right is my progress after 15 months. I'm in the middle of a cutting diet right now so I'm about 190lbs and I'm 6' tall. I got a long way to go before I can match some of the physiques I see in here but I'm gonna get there. I'm open to any suggestions and criticism you guys can offer. I am natural and plan to stay that way since I'm still new to bodybuilding and I think I have a lot of room to grow naturally. I do take supplements: Creatine, Glutamine, BCAA's, Protein Powder, and Flax Oil. My legs are definitely my weakest bodypart, like most guys I didn't start working them until way too late and they look rediculous. That's why you don't see them in the pic, just try to imagine two toothpicks down there :P I am squatting like a madman to try and catch them up though.

For some reason my rear delts appear to be missing! Any suggestions on good exercises to hit that area?

rear laterals lying on a bench with dumbbells or standing bent over, reverse pec deck, bent lateral on the cables, or here's a cool one...grab a rope with both hands on a cable up high and pull it back toward your chin using your rear delts. Burns like hell.

And btw, nice improvements you've made. Keep hitting those legs hard and keep us posted on your progress.

Seated row with a straight bar, medium/wide grip and pull to your chin.

Now I see why I don't have any rear delts. All of the exercises you guys recommended I have never tried before! Thanks for the tips, I will incorporate some of those into my routine immediately.

I think they're commonly referred to as "face pulls"....another good one is seated dumbell cleans...they hammer the rear delts if you do them with some discipline.

You're getting a good base. Keep it up...the results you get directly reflect the work you've put in. And don't let up on the legs

Here is what I looked like on May 3 before I started cutting. This was the result of 2 months of eating fast food and taking a break from the gym. I got fat quick...
