Hello everyone...I'm a newbie here.
I'm glad you made it over here (did you get the e-mail?). You now have access to the female board. If you have any questions about anything, let me know.
Yes, I did :) Thank you.
welcome to the boards darlin!! nice pic:)
Thank you KBGirl!
I guess I should do the proper introduction thing...
I'm 32 years old and I trained for 3 years to enter my first bodybuilding competition, which I won 2nd place in. I decided that bodybuilding wasn't what I wanted to do because I wasn't comfortable with the poses. I felt it would be more natural for me to cross over to Fitness. However, I didn't have a gymnastic background so I now work with a gymnastic coach about once a week and I'm preparing for my first Fitness competition which will be in June. In the mean time I have been working on my stage presence by doing Figure competitions.
For the next few months I'm going to be trying to round out my delts and put on a little more size. However, I have a shoulder injury that's kind of causing me some trouble lately. I'm mainly working on increasing my strength and flexibility for the Fitness specific elements.
Currently, I am training under the supervision of a trainer using Mike Mentzer High Intensity Training techniques and Ken Hutchins Super Slow training techniques.
On the days I do not lift, I practice gymnastics and I also take a dance class once a week to help me with my choreography.
Oh yeah...btw...I also work full time as a software developer and I model part-time.
I was featured in the "Future of Fitness" Section of October 2001 issue of Oxygen magazine. I recently found out I'm going to be featured in a magazine called Divas which is distributed in 20 countries throughout the Latino Communities of America, Central America, South America, Puerto Rico, Spain, and Holland. However, I am not latin...I'm asian.
Anyway...that's all for now...thank you for the warm welcome.
I liked your "not from Canada" subject line :)
Thanks for the intro...sounds like you are a very busy girl...Congrats on the magazine coverage...
very impressive
Nice website as well...Welcome to the boards :)
Welcome LorraineRosa :)
Hi Lorraine, good to see ya!:D
Not from Canada eh? That's ok, your more than welcome :)
Based on your experience and list of accomplishments I'm sure you'll be a valuable asset to the board.
Pete
Nice to have you .... Welcome
Again, thank you for the warm welcome everyone. I hope I didn't offend anyone by saying I wasn't from Canada. I remembered reading an earlier post jokingly complaining about "another Canadian".
Anyway...looking forward to interacting with everyone. :)
Good to see another face from mm.com
:D
BTW, Dino...when I was in California a few weeks ago, I was on the treadmill next to Gabbie. Girlfriend, you are way better looking than her and you could probably kick her butt at volleyball. :)
Hey! I'm assuming when you said Gabby you were refering to Gabriella Reece, the volleyball player and my ex girlfriend and still good friend. Ya right, just kidding. I did meet her once while in L.A. though. Welcome to the board. I respect what you have done very much. Best of luck with your training.:)
That's not fair...I want to train next to her...She is awesome.:D But thanks anyway Lorraine. ;)Quote:

Welcome to the board!
I turned 30 this past summer, and I'm only now beginning to get serious about training. you're never too old, as long as you are young at heart!
So true Dino! I knew that wasn't you in avatar, but I've seen your picture in other posts. :)Quote:
