Noob. My tricep rejected my injection, led to infection
Hi,
Obviously it's embarrassing to be a first timer and to have already messed up. But I'm determined to solve this problem and move ahead my plans for improving my body.
The problem is I botched my first ever injection. The two pharmacies near my house each had only the shorter tipped syringes, but I'm pretty lean so I figured I could get away using them. But I think I missed the muscle (I succeeded in one arm, but failed in the other). The shot was meant to go in the upper region of the lateral head of my tricep (that bulb that sticks out from the side when you straighten your arm), but the oil seems to have travelled down my arm under my skin and has pooled up just above my elbow in the back of my arm.
I went to the ER and they prescribed me antibiotics for cellulitis (which is a skin infection). The doctors didn't seem to be very experienced in dealing with test. use, except to give me a general frown of disapproval when I explained that a failed test shot was the cause of the lump and infection.
The infection isn't my main problem anymore, because the antibiotics will take care of that. The main problem is the lump, too. The oil is trapped under my skin. When I press down on my arm I can feel the thickened oil. With my skin and small amount of fat there as a buffer, it feels almost like pressing my fingers into a cool jar of petroleum jelly/vaseline. When I press down into it I leave little indentations where my fingers were.
Can somebody please tell me how to dissolve this stuff into my muscle?

Hope you learned your lesson, triceps shot require a lot of experience.
First cycle you are supposed to pin the glutes, with proper needles and syringes.
Why on earth would you pin triceps???

Lol first timer and you go for the tricep pin. Well done.

Somebody I know IRL and who is approaching the end of another successful cycle walked me through it in person. Said lateral tricep is the least painful spot to hit in terms of the lingering soreness afterward. I have a fairly pronounced muscle head for my lateral tricep already so I could see my target. Didn't seem like it would be a problem.

Thanks Ghettoboyd. Can you give me a rough time frame of how long that might take? A week? Two? It's already been almost a week and no signs of absorption.

Thank you Ghettoboyd for giving me the most constructive answer on this thread so far. But it would be great to hear what some of the other users think about this problem, too.
It's like there a lump of silly putty under my skin. Seem like there's anything I should worry about....?

Expect this.
Joking.
But, if you get an injection landmark diagram, you can avoid nerve clusters and networks fairly easy.
I've pinned all 24 of my shots so far in quads, alternating left leg, right leg.
I have experienced 0 pain, nothing but a slight pinch of needle breaking skin.
No soreness lingering at all, can train legs the very second I pull pin out.
Quads I feel are easy.
My glutes scare me to do, I dunno, its nice to sit still, go slow and see with both eyes, stabilize barrel once fully inserted with one hand while I operate plunger with the other
I once hit a group of nerves felt like the devil was in my leg. Pulled out, changed tips, and went a little lower, all good

Gently message the lump in the shower under very warm water. It should dissipate within a week. Good luck bro!
