40 year old; Deca+Test, on day 40...

Began 28 days ago with 200 mg Deca every three days, and today bumped that to 300mg plus 150mg Test cyp.

I front loaded the first two injections at 300mg.

Being in moderate condition to begin with initially made me hesitant to start the cycle- but I was just too frustrated with old injuries and the required six months to get in shape. So, I hit the pin through an MD’s prescription from a custom pharmacy. We talk and he orders up the mix and it is delivered next day air. It is expensive, certainly, yet trusting the solution is worth the price. Having been scammed in the past, and seeing friends develop subdural hemotomas from fake Sus 250 cured me. While not all favorable solutions are available, such as Primobolan depot, most effective mixtures are.

It took about two weeks before I noticed any change in my strength, and today I noticed a substantial difference compared to baseline at day 28. My bench has increased most notably; day one was a struggle to get 5 reps of 205- today I banged out 5 reps at the top of my pyramid with 245, easily. I am confidant that I could push more weight, but I do not want to pick up any injuries so I am going slowly- well, pretty slow.

The diet, always the toughest thing to control for me, comes next. All white meat, low dairy, reasonable carbs- the usual protocol. I am also taking Creatine post workouts, along with a variety of vitamins and supplements. The only concern I have currently is the Deca Dick, which seems to be something I am susceptible to.

At week two I took a complete physical; blood work, baseline and exercise 12 lead ECG, and VO2 Max. The blood work came back normal except for elevated lipids; the VO2 Max showed an anaerobic threshold at 35 ml/kg and 146 bpm...all about average for my age. My cardio plan includes elliptical training 2-3 times per week for 45 minutes at less than 146 bpm, greater than 110 bpm to burn fat; 2 times a week for 45 minutes at 146bpm-175bpm interval training for cardio and VO2 Max, and once a week for two hours at 130-135bpm. The Precor EFX is the only cardio piece I can work due to trashed knees. The results of this testing gave me an accurate baseline of where I burn fat, and at what percentage for a given workload/heart rate. I highly recommend this type of testing as it takes the guess work out of training. My MD just happens to be the fella who developed the calorie/Met algorithms for Precor, so I am dialed in on the EFX.

The Test was added to combat Deca Dick, which manifested itself in a lower than normal (way lower) sex drive and wood. I picked up some Viagra to address this from a local MD, and it does the trick. Nevertheless, my HRT MD suggested Test, Aromasin, and a supplement with Saw Palmetto, Pygeum, and Stinging Nettle Root. The Aromasin is to block estrogen (although my recent blood test showed normal levels), and the supplements to combat other side effects (hair loss, etc). I am currently scaling the Deca at 300mg and the Test cypionate at 150mg every three days; I plan to increase these levels gradually to 400+200, then drop down to 200+150 over a 16 week period. That is the plan anyway, which can always change.

I'm holding off starting the Aromasin for a few weeks, jut to get a baseline on the effect of the Test+Deca combination and until I get another blood test. No sore nipples yet, and no showing of gyno.

I'm in week 4 of a test/EQ cycle, my first (I'm 50) and I had what I thought was a similar problem (missing libido) but now realize it may have just been due to being massively overtrained -I'd pushed myself way too hard the third week in, despite the gear not being fully kicked in and having an ear infection. Big mistake!

What are you planning to do post-cycle? I am 39 and last year I did a similar cycle and the Deca shut me down hard.
It took 2 rounds of HGC + Clomid + Novaldex to get me up and running again.

What's the status of this cycle?

Latest update:
Day 47- started Test Cyp. 10 days ago and the deca dick has been eliminated thankfully. Will begin HCG shortly to return testicular axis toward rebound. Current dosage is 200mg Deca and 200mg Test cyp every third day, along with 25mg of Aromasin everyday, Sal Palmetto, and standard vitamins. Noticed testicular atrophy a few weeks ago, but the test cyp is doing well to counter. Feel great, and workouts are excellant- great pump, no pain, no injuries. Current plan is to maintain cycle dosage for 3-4 weeks, then back down to a maintenance dose of 175 test cyp and 200 Deca per week, then switch to a Deca+Win V stack for 12 weeks, then come off for 4 weeks, then repeat. That is the plan anyway. Fat is starting to come off, even though I am not dieting; averaging 2500-3000 calories per day. The Aromasin appears to be working well, no gyno symtoms whatsoever.

Strength continues to improve; yesterday did 225x10, 255x6, 295 x 2 on the flat bench with no problems. Military has improved to 225x5. Still need to focus on squats, but a bad knee (DJD) keeps me apprehensive. Starting to gain nice size overall; 1" on the arms, 3" on the chest, Delts coming out, waist down -2".

General feeling of well being excellant; can certainly tell I am loaded with Test- easy to spin and challenge, but to date no problem controlling the urge to engage. Clearly concerned and focused on maintaining this control- I'm aware, so it is easier to manage.

Sex drive is way, way up...with all parts working well.

Currently at 222 lbs, 22% bf; up 8 pounds of lean, down 5 pounds of fat after 47 days. Can see that the next 3-4 weeks should produce another 8-10 pounds, and expect a drop of 3-5 pounds of fat.

Could probably add more weight, but it would not be high quality.

Overall apperence is good; not too bloated, with reasonable vascularity and tone. No pimples, no absesses, no problems.

Recently began injecting quads...much better than glutes. Easier to get to! Also, while slightly more painful to stick, no pain to inject. I highly recommend quad shots. I move them around from the lateral mid section to anterior (top of quad), just medial of the knee cap-hip pointer line; always in the mid-section between the knee and hip.

Recent blood work showed slight elevation of LDL; have began managed diet to compensate. Deca tends to send LDL the worng way.

Nice report. Here's some good news....you aren't gyno prone and could skip the femara and it's potential side effects. Aromasin will not prevent the type of gyno caused by deca, and you would have it by now at 600mg a week if you were prone to it.
I think I know the Dr/pharm outfit you use. The doc is a great guy.....the only one who would script you for that much deca + cyp every 3 days. It is possible to get an infection from compunding pharmacies. This happened to a well known friend of mine with the cyp....not the deca. It happened a while ago, and I haven't heard of anymore incidents.
I really like the reported good results from the deca. Deca gets a bad rap on the boards these days....undeserved. I have regularly included deca in my cycles for many years. It's a staple for the older guy with old joints. The dutch yellow tops are the best deca money can buy.
Only hardship with deca as stromba points out, is the lengthy recovery, and for those of us who don't try to recover anymore....it really doesn't matter.

Yes, my MD is a cool dude- he has many high profile patients, and understands where we (as 40 somethings) are coming from because he is one. I had a long talk with him about the Deca gyno, and he is of the opinion that deca specific gyno (and the idea that aromsin/anti-estro's will not block it) is urban legend- as does Duchaine's writings. Then again you get reports to the contrary, but never know how accurate they are. Then you read compelling chemistry and get more confused.

Currently noticing no side effects from the aromasin- at least that I can tell. I do suspect it is inhibiting receptors a bit, as I am not blowing up like a ballon- or I have genetically stubborn receptors. Given the dosage, I think I fall below average in terms of results- but no worries. Truth is I am just hitting day 51, and from previous experience, I responded late in the cycle and held it (thankfully) as long as I trained. I think having 25 years of muscle memory, and previous levels of fitness at, or near, high caliber status predetermines a unique response- genetics as always. But I am speculating as I am no expert.

You are spot on regarding Deca for old joints! Having DJD, degenerative joint desease, from too many knee surgeries is what brought me to Deca, or back I should say. I'm a little curious to see what happens when I switch to Anavar and Win V depot- if my joints dry up. I'll keep interested parties updated.

It's odd, Harley. I have used steroids off and on since the early 1970's. We had no anti-e's, or any concept of them. A few guys had problems, most of whom had already had some adolescent type gyno symptoms. Most did not. I bought into the literature when anti-e's became popular and used them for no apparant reason for awhile. Now I use none at all on 1500mgs a week or more. I now believe that one is either prone or not. The percentage of guys who get gyno seems about the same to me as the pre-anti period. I keep them on hand though, just in case.......it's inexpensive peace of mind.
GH and deca keep me pain free, and at 54, nobody outlifts me in this town.
If I'm not mistaken, your doc uses deca and GH himself, right?
