    Question A question for DOC?

Hey Doc first off glad you are on the board bro. You’re just what the doctor ordered! I know that was dumb but had to say it!

Anyway here is my question. At what point would you inject HCG and take Clomid for optimal fertilization in a female.

Why? My wife and I want another baby and would really like to have twins!! So I thought I would try HCG and or Clomid.

    Your thoughts?

How about quintuplets, or quadruplets or sextuplets? Unless you are ready for those I would not mess with this stuff. This is dangerous business especially for your wife.

    PA..

First, I will have to answer your question with a question..Are you and your wife presently having difficulty getting pregnant?? Or are you just now starting to attempt the second pregnancy??

I will then follow that up with my strong recommendation to NOT try to administer HCG or Clomid to your wife in an attempt to conceive twins..Clomid is really not designed for this purpose at all and in fact is often over prescribed by Doctors..Clomid is meant to act as a catalyst in the process, not a miracle pill..And as far as the HCG goes I would keep her totally away from that drug..

I know this isn't necessarily the answer you were hoping for, but I have to give you my honest and ethically responsible recommendation..If you both want this I would seek out a fertility specialist and talk to them about your desires..Your potential child isn't something to play at home Doctor with and could result in serious problems for both your wife and child if conception does take place..This route is financially more expensive, but it will help you keep a peace of mind that you are playing it safe with everyone's mental and physical health..Let me know what you decide to do and GOOD LUCK!!!

Actually Doc I see your point and was also given a very similar response by Lewd as well. So we are going to see someone instead of trying the "Home Doctor" !!

Thanks for the reply my friend.

i totally agree about that, yes indeed clomid induce an FSH boost in females followed by a LH peak following withdrawl of the drug through a positive feedback mecahnism inducing immediate ovulation which is possibly a multiple ovulation might be 2 ,4 or even 6 ova which might be very hazardous for your beloved wife (polyhyrdamnios and preeclampsia, placenta previa, etc.) so this practice is really not well controlled and depends merely on luck. for HCG ;it induces ovulation directly but it carries the risk of ovarian cyst formation(specially if used with clomid)and possible torsion which is a sever medical condition edangering life.
go to a the specailist and he might suggest somthing .
