It increases your body's release of LH and FSH, which in turn causes a greater release of testosterone.
My fault, i thought you were asking how it does it. It should be a day or two after you take the desired dose of clomid.

It should gradually fade back to normal but over the course of a week or so if your over your normal level. But the main use for clomid is just to get back to normal test levels.
