    does tribulus help or hinder recovery of the hpta?

    does tribulus make your body produce more endogenous luetinising hormone which in turn raises test levels or does it work by mimicking LH like hcg to raise test levels?
    the reason i ask is to ascertain whether tribulus would be inhibitory to the recovery of the HPTA post cycle like hcg can be or does it in fact speed PCT?
    i would be interested in anyone who can explain how tribulus actually works giving me input.

    There are plenty of studies floating around that proves that tribulus raises LH which in turn would help speed along recovery.

    Tribulus terrestris is a perennial plant, grown predominately in India and Africa. Tribulus is mentioned in ancient Indian Ayurvedic medical texts dating back thousands of years. Tribulus has been widely used in the Ayurvedic system of medicine for the treatment of sexual dysfunction and various urinary disorders. The Greeks used Tribulus Terrestris as a diuretic. In China and Vietnam it has been used in the treatment of post-partum hemorrhage, epistaxis and gastro intestinal bleeding. It is a South African remedy for inflammation and arthritis. In one study, Tribulus terrestris increased spermatogenesis and sexual activity in laboratory animals. Tribulus terrestris appears to raise/turn on natural testosterone production in men via the activation of hormone secretion and estradiol. Clinical studies in Bulgaria have shown Tribulus terrestris to increase the sex hormones LH (luteinizing hormone) level by 72% and the body's own free testosterone level by 41% in healthy adult males in only five days. LH regulates the testosterone production in the testes and high levels of LH coincide with high testosterone levels. Tribulus has become increasingly popular among athletes because it reportedly increases strength and stamina. Studies on Tribulus use are ongoing. The extract contains alkaloids, saponins, resins and nitrates and is popularly used as a sports nutrient in USA. The extract of the plant is recognized as a diuretic and aphrodisiac. It has anti-oxidant and hypolipedemic activities. Tribulus Terrestris extract was effectively used for nonspecific impotence and aging. It has been popularized as a natural remedy to enhance libido and fertility in both men and women.

    Below are some of the benefits from supplementing with Tribulus.

    * 1.Improves muscle growth & body strength
    * 2.Reported to enhance libido sexualis & erectile function
    * 3.Reported to increase the number and motility of spermatozoa
    * 4. increases LH levels by 72% and testosterone levels by 41% in only five days.
    * 5.Helps in alleviating some symptoms associated with male menopause
    * 6.No adverse effects
    * 7.No toxicity and side effects

    Tribulus is an excellent supplement to take at the end of a prohormone cycle to help kick start your own testosterone production again. And it can also be effectively used to increase strength gains and aid in helping you get over a plateau. for optimal results try to find a tribulus supplement that is standardized for 45% saponis.

    The dosages for best results are around 2000 to 3000 mg per day.

    1. What is it and where does it come from?

    Tribulus terrestris is a plant that grows in many tropical and moderate areas of the world. Many different cultures have used it for a number of conditions. For example, the Greeks used Tribulus terrestris as a diuretic and a mood-enhancer.

    Indians used it as a diuretic, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory. The Chinese used it for a variety of liver, kidney, and cardiovascular diseases. The people of Bulgaria used Tribulus terrestris as a sex enhancer and to treat infertility. Recently, eastern European athletes and strength champions have used it as well. High quality, nutrient rich Tribulus terrestris is available from Bodybuilding.com.

    2. What does it do and what scientific studies give evidence to support this?

    Tribulus terrestris is a testosterone enhancer. Studies show that it works very well when stacked with DHEA and androstenedione. It increased testosterone levels in a different way, however, than either DHEA or andro do. Instead of being a testosterone precursor, it leads to the production of the luteinizing hormone (LH). When LH levels are increased, the natural production of testosterone also increases. LH is a hormone that also deals with sex drive. Now one can understand why it has been used to increase fertility and help with impotence. Laboratory animal studies found that Tribulus terrestris increased sperm count as well as motility levels after taking it for 30 days.

    3. Who needs it and what are some symptoms of deficiency?

    [ Top 5 Sellers ]
    1. Universal Animal Stak
    2. Optimum Tribulus 625
    3. Nutrex Vitrix
    4. Universal Animal Stak 2
    5. Biotest Tribex-500
    This is a good supplement for men and women to increase their sex drive. According to Bill Phillips, editor of Muscle Media, "...Tribulus terrestris can significantly "lift" performance in the bedroom." Anyone who wants to increase muscle growth (bodybuilders, athletes, etc.) would be wise to try stacking Tribulus terrestris with DHEA and andro. Since Tribulus terrestris is not an essential nutrient, it is not associated with deficiency.

    4. How much should be taken? Are there any side effects?

    Most experts recommend experimenting with 750 to 1,250 mg per day, divided among meals, and stacking it with about 100 mg per day of DHEA, along with around 100 mg per day of androstenedione to get the best results. As for side effects, about one in ten people have associated some gastrointestinal upset with taking Tribulus terrestris. Taking food with it can minimize these effects if you are that one in ten.
