Coming off 10 years of TRT due to new Dr orders...Need help

Ive been on Test Gel for 10 years (47 years old, great shape, eat clean , lift 4 -5 days a week) and levels always at 600-700 total test and recently been having increased estrogen problems last 2 years. Was at 236, then 150 now at 55 with arimadex the Dr described me to bring my estrogen down My libido and dick are all fucked up even though my numbers are in range now. Been messed up for a couple of months. I want to have children so since my last Dr of 10 years never told me to cycle off the TRT once in awhile i went to one of the Top urologist on Long Island and he is well versed in TRT. He told me to not take any Testosterone gel for 4 weeks then we will do bloodwork and a fertility test to see if any sperm are active. My prostate was slightly enlarged and he said its from the TRT. He said he'll prab put me on clomid or HCG to help bring my natural test up but I'm gonna crash in a week and half, I don't want to feel like shit for 2 1/2 weeks! Cant I do HCG or clomid in 2 weeks after the synthetic test is out of my system then get blood work in 4 weeks? Why does he want me to be off for 4 weeks???? thanks sorry for rambling...

My guess is he wants to clear your system, see how you rebound naturally and then start the reboot with the clomid and HCG .

It’s not enviable but part of the process. Could always do your fertility test while on TRT (both of my kids were conceived while “on”) but it’s sounds like the estrogen control is of concern and is impacting your libido and functionality.

Could always stay on TRT longer, work on stabilizing your estrogen and seeing if it impacts your sexual functions and then test sperm motility alongside. Otherwise; if getting off of therapy and doing a restart is the goal, I think you’re going to have to tough it out during that 2 week lull.

I’m not as concerned with your prostate scores as that’s just part of the game at 47 (not knowing your PSA of course) I hover slightly above or below 1.0 on cruise and as high as 3.5 while blasting.

Hopefully this helps. Trust the urologist, especially if he’s well versed. It’s the price we pay brother. Also wonder if switching to injections might add more stability if you choose to stay on course?

At this time it is the first step for any conception to remove any outside testosterone . This is a hospital and Dr thing. They start out by saying there is no way to make sperm while on test.

Then when you actually go to the specialist they tell you there are many ways to get sperm without leaving the TRT. I would recommend asking the real specialist the actual conception options. If you are looking to insert fertilized egg into the wife then a simple tissue retrieval from the testicle can achieve this. Cost plays a role. The success percentages depend a lot on the wife and her ability to perform normally.

Thank you for your input, I'm going to just tough out the 4 weeks like the Dr wants and see where I'm at and go from there...
