If arnold does an amazing job in cali, which he is, do you think they will ammend the constitution and allow foreign born people to run for president?

i never understood, they say you have to be born in america to be president. what if jesus rose from the dead and lived in america for 100 years and he showed that he could change everything wrong with country if he was elected, you think they would change constitution then???

As much as I like Arnold I would be against changing the Constitution so he could run. Where you are born makes a difference when talking about the leader of America. Imho

I think arnold would make a cool president cos he has lived a normal life in comparison to Bush who has been pampered most his life, at least arnie can give a real view on life and make his policys reflect this

Let's take a example of why I would be against it. Let's say we elect a guy from India....don't you think he'll try and use his power to help out his Mother country? What would happen if we were to go to war with his country? I'm being very simplistic.

Exactly. Even though Arnie would probably do alright as prez, there is a very good reason that you have to be American born: We don't want people from other countries getting elected and pursuing their own nationalistic interests. This sounds kind of odd if you haven't seen or don't remember the movie, but if anyone remembers the Bond movie GoldenEye, the bad guy (006) was some Russian-minority that had his family killed by the British. Thus he infiltrated the government, and betrayed a lot of people.........it sounds far fetched, and it might be, but its not a chance I would want to take.

I really don't see Arnold using all of our natural resources to help Austria, but I agree his presidency would be a pathetic statement. How, in this enormous country of 300 mill people can we not find ONE naturally born citizen qualified for the role. It stinks that candidates seemingly must come from Congress or Governor. Why not someone like Bloomberg or Welch, proven leaders and optimizers with a grasp on efficiency and progress? A retired bodybuilder and actor? I'm sure he'd be better than Bush, but not the best the US has to offer.

It will never happen...

I like Arnold and all, but I don't think it should be changed. The Constitution should not be changed for one man, and whether you choose to believe it or not, the idea of it is just so he can run. Sure others can try, but he is the only one that stands a chance of winning if it were to pass.
