Great Political Day
Today was a crazy day... I passed George W. Bush though town as he and his crew were on their way to another city... he actually looked out his window and gave me a big smile and waved.
Later that day, I went to a democratic convention where John Kerry, John Edwards, and Ben Afflick all spoke. It was very impressive, I really believe in him. I had VIP passes and I actually got speak with Ben Afflick for a while then I shook John Kerrys hand and he gave me his John Hancock on my VIP ticket (that will be worth some money one of these days)
anyway... just thought I'd share.

John Kerry is a socialist, and has the most liberal voting record in the senate....... is this what you really want? I mean come on, not to mention the fact that he flip-flops on almost every issue. He offers promises but little substantive policy. GO ahead and waste your vote.
The definition of a fascist is
A conservative winning an argument against a liberal............ resorting to name calling.... how petty and beneath me.......

For those of us keeping track. Fascism is a system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.
I do not advocate dictatorship, nor do I advocate any form of racism, lets see here...... Im not in favor of using terror to control a populus, censorship..... only when it becomes necessary by endangering the lives of the populus.
If your going to throw around a term like that the least you could do is know what it means. Go buy a dictionary.

In countries such as the US where the media and gov. is supposedly free and supposedly "fair and balanced", if you look at the couple months before the war, and crap that was fed to us, there was this strange rally round the flag by the media and gvmt, and if you opposed the war, you had to follow it up with that one sentence, "...but I support the troops". You can see all those things in your definition in the months leading up to the war and months afterwards.

People say that he flip flopped because he voted for the war in Iraq and the Patriot Act, and 6 months later he voted them down.
I did the same thing. After 9/11 everybody was ready to do whatever necessary.... then it became very easy to see that we had made a mistake, Bush thought that just because we wanted to get revenge on Afghanstain that we wanted to bomb the whole middle east without justification. Pres. Bush has spent his four years in the white house very unwisely.
Say Hello to your new President, John Kerry.

when he loses I will personally come and laugh at all of you.........
When I use big words I know what they mean. Dont make me go nominalist and then resort to arguing semantics, its not fun.
He has flip-flopped on abortion, stem-cell research, tax cuts, gay marriage....... the list goes on and on, it is well documented, check your facts before you post. Sic Semper Liberalis.
"I dont know any republicans that are not racist." is that the best you can do, your hacking me because I provided a definition that proved him wrong...... are you really that petty? Are you that blinded by liberal media?
I fear for the fate of this great nation.

You're right, G.W. Bush is the greatest president we've ever had. We went to war with Iraq based on the sole fact that they had weapons of mass destruction. We've found nothing! I'm not saying that the world is not a better place without Saddam, but we cant justify the war, and that makes us no different from the rest of the middle east.
George Bush has produced more jobs in China and India than the United States... In the last four years we have produced roughly 10,000 jobs internationally to other countries. George Bush has advanced tax cuts to business that outsource their employment, thus giving our American jobs to other countries.
In the last four years our country has fallin more indebt than during any presidency. During the Clinton Adminstration not only did we balance the budget, we paid atop it for the last three years of Clintons term.
In 2002 George Bush signed a deal with China that they would loan us money to pay the interest on our debt, in return they would gain the rights to producing and distributing products with the Wal-Mart trademark, along with repaying the loan at a later date. So now we are indebt to China as well.
George Bush stood by the slogan that "No Child Will be Left Behind", but we walks into schools knowing that they dont have the money for aftercare, tutoring, new textbooks, or enough teachers.
With the steel tariffs George Bush emposed, he has single handedly put Pittsburgh out of business. A city once known as being one of the biggest steal producers in the World has nearly went out of business because we now import our steel from European Unions.
George Bush is a supporter of the NRA, and he has tried to minimize gun laws as much as possible. Thanks to the help of George Bush guns can be obtained easily at any street corner or gun dealer. In 2003 the United States had over 10,000 deaths that were gun related, compared to less than 100 in other countries such as Canada, France, or England where guns are illegal.
He has done wonders for the economy. He wonders why the economy has done so bad... I'll explain it for you. He gives tax cuts to the most wealthy individuals in our country that make over $300,000 a year, which only makes up 1% of our country. The other 99%, the middle class, is getting the crap taxed out of them. The middle class is what makes up our economy but we dont have any extra money to spend because its all being taxed!!! Simple as that.
He has not kept up with inflation, prices and costs are rising but our minumum wage is not.
I'm sure you've all see college costs rising through the roof!!! Well I can tell you why. During the Clinton Adminstration, he signed a bill that would only allow colleges to raise tuition 6% each year. George Bush has more than doubled that, he signed a bill that allows each state to raise tuition up to 16.4% each year based on individual states legislature. Not only that, he put a lock on the Federal Perkins Loan keeping students from taking out as much money, thus raising out of pocket expenses. If George Bush is reelected, College will literally not be affordable in 4 more years.
I'm not for being a Democrat or Repuplican, I'm for being an American and doing whats best for us and our country. We have spent 20 billion dollars in Iraq but we cant afford to give our citizens health care.
Where I come from, you take care of you and yours. Dont worry though, Help is on the way. Its a beautiful day.

Guys let the liberal children have their fantasies it's normal until they grow up. After all we were once ignorant as well. I dare anyone to list their list of daily or weekly responsibilities that outweigh their free time, excluding Sin he is an enigma, he doesn't count!

I know Sin but I'm trying to get down to "their" level. You ARE an enigma, let these other great minds share their responsibilities and accountabilities, let's see what they've got besides hot air.

Nobody has said anything that means something. You're all soft thinkers, just repeating what you've seen on TV. In the post above I've listed numerous reasons why I will be casting my single vote towards John Kerry... maybe you should have some orginial reasons for yours.
My favorite is when people say that John Kerry is not most liberal person in the senate.... please, show me this special goverment list that has everybody numbered in order from most liberal to least liberal? I'd love to take a look at that.
Beside the war, name one thing Bush has done in office that you believe in?
Sending jobs to China and India?
Raising taxes for 99% of Americans?
Raising tuition limits for colleges and universities all over America?
Lowering the average amount a student can take out for a loan?
Minimizing gun laws becasue his daddy is friends with the NRA, thus doing nothing to decrease violence?
Steel tariffs that have put cities like Toledo, Pittsburgh, Cinninnatti, and many others through Ohio, West Virginia, and Penn literally out of business. We are the biggest steal producing country in the world, but we are importing more steel than we export. Is that why you're voting for him?
Maybe you're voting for him because he decligned to sign a bill that would allow schools in poverty to be allowed to take out a interest free loan to help rebuild and modernize their schools for the future of America?
Its not probably that though... I bet you're voting for him because while he was in the Navy, he went AWOL on his service for over 12 months. That would be a dishonerable discharge but for some reason he was given an honorable discharge? Thats weird.
So tell me, which of these reasons is yours?
Its like I said before, this is not about being a Democrat or Republican, this is about something much bigger. This is about US... Americans... and doing whats right for our country.
Help is on the way.

Eastcoaster you wanna talk about steel? I work in the steel industry , it's not steel tarriff causing the exports it's Chinas' economy. They aren't buying our steel they are buying our scrap and raw materials up. That's happening in the private sector , Bush has nothing to do with that.
As far as domestic sources thay are seeing profits that they haven't seen in years do to current market conditions. Go take a nap in your dorm room, you are delirious.
08-02-2004, 12:55 PM #25
I see East Coaster is against the capitalism that creates our economy. How do you say that he raised taxes of 99% of the populace when he proposed an across the board cut, and he even created a 10% income tax bracket! Ridiculous statements from someone who obviously is only concerned about having the government take care of every desire. What makes you think that everyone should be given a loan for college??? Reality check for you, colleges are run like a business...they can only raise prices if the demand exists. Relaxed gun laws have resulted in lower crime rates in every state where they were enacted. About Americans??? It sounds like you want to live in a socialist state.

First of all... he didnt not give tax breaks, he gave tax advances. You got the money quicker in smaller amounts.
You are a fool to think that everybody should not be given a loan for college.. you're a true fool

If you work for steel then you should know a little more about what you're talking. Bush is giving tax breaks to companies that import steel.
I have to go run a few errands... when I come back I'll post some sources to back up my statements.
08-02-2004, 01:31 PM #28
Prove it. That's B.S. there are no finished steel products being imported because the dollar is too weak right now. We need imports because the domestic mills can't keep up capacity to fill the demand but we can't get imports . Please give me the name of one company that is importing steel plate right now!
The "tax breaks" don't have an effect if there is no product to import. Where did you get this B.S.? I would love to find some import steel plate please, please tell me!!!
I'm getting giddy with excitement.

thats right the dollar is too weak.
1.00 EUR Euro = 1.20300 USD ooh.
1.00 GBP = 1.82805 USD ouch.
bush is a such a waster. its a pity the alternatives are little better. bit like the UK we've got Blair (labour or was that conservative) or we've got Howard (er... thatchers goebbels great choice)..
at least i never have to pay for my health, teeth or eyes though
08-02-2004, 02:32 PM #31
Skin, Dot coms, Enrons etc which started and fizzled out at the end of the Clinton admin. are responsible as well as 9/11 for the weak dollar. We need our dollar to be weak right now so infaltion doesn't go through the roof.
08-02-2004, 04:04 PM #32
mm Enron...mmmm. kenny boy and Enron have got a LOT to answer for.
08-02-2004, 04:06 PM #33

just got back from canada. we must be the most conservative backwards thinking "1st world" country on this planet. Lot of people on here ive noticed throw around "liberal" as if it were a four letter word. Get off your high horse and visit another country and see what liberal and progressive thinking can do. The conservatism in this country is sickening

East Coast...a fool huh? Well I used a ton of student loans to go to college, but they did not pay for everything and I would have done whatever it took to finish. My point is that I am disgusted by the feeling of entitlement coming out of beggars, myself included, when it comes to student loans. Go to a bank and you will only get a loan for an amount they believe you can pay off. Guess who pays for these entitlement loans that go to anyone that wants them when they are not repaid??? You guessed it, the tax payer. I know of at least two people that aren't paying their loans, and I know tons of people that didn't even use them for school. It pisses me off that people abuse our student loan program and then complain that they are not given enough from the gov't. Too many people qualify for student loans in my opinion. Maybe we should make people work for college instead.
