2 Registered Delaware Republicans Lie on Kerry
2 of the guys trying to smear a man that put his life on the line for your freedom (unlike Bush) were from Delaware and they are liars. I found this in the Delaware paper.
'They can doubt all they want, but I saw'
By VICTOR GRETO
Dr. John Levinson knows Vietnam.
He went to Vietnam more than a dozen times from 1963 to 1989 as a volunteer surgeon, obstetrician and, beginning in 1968, as a medical adviser to the U.S. Senate committee on refugees and civilian war casualties.
So when the north Wilmington resident hears the commercials sponsored by Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, which includes testimony from Wilmington banker Bob Elder, he said he knows they just don't get the point.
"My perspective is basically I've been down there and seen the Swift boats, visited their base," Levinson said in a telephone interview Wednesday. He said the atrocities that Kerry claimed happened in Vietnam, including the cutting off of ears and firing on civilians, actually did occur.
He said his job as a medical adviser to the Senate was to investigate conditions in South Vietnam. "They can doubt that all they want, but I saw some of those things," Levinson said.
Like Kerry, Levinson blames government policy and bad leadership, including the implementation of "free fire zones," areas supposedly cleared of civilians where the American military could attack indiscriminately.
"I flew helicopters over some 'free fire zones,'"and saw many civilians living in huts or going about their business who were killed, Levinson said.
Levinson, a registered independent, said he also thought Kerry was brave for coming out against the war when he returned home.
Bob Elder of Swift Boat Veterans for Truth could not disagree more.
"We take the position he was undermining the individual fighting man" when Kerry came out against the war, Elder said in a telephone interview. "He was accusing them of war crimes that he said were a matter of policy at all levels, which they were not. None of us who were with him saw or participated in any of that."
Elder also denied Kerry's contention that his group is connected to the Republican Party. Anyone may donate to the organization, he said, and some of them may happen to be Republicans, but "we would not be that dumb" to associate the group with President Bush.
"Any commissioned officer who in time of war gives aid and comfort to the enemy cannot be president of the United States," he said.
In fact, Elder said, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution's 14th Amendment blocks anyone from office who "shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion ... or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof."
"That's what we regard that he did," Elder said.
Levinson, however, said he had gone to the village of My Lai shortly after it had been destroyed and its inhabitants massacred by American soldiers in March 1968. "There was the complete loss of the dignity of human life," he said. "This is the kind of thing Kerry is screaming about. Kerry should be championed for criticizing these things," he said.

Unless you live in Montana or Idaho or one of those states with no civilization, you can just open the paper and see Americans can be evil. Parents killings kids, families being murdered for getting lost in the wrong neighborhoods, presidents cutting healthcare to children, vets, and the elderly, kids dying in schools, etc.

Loz it's true, but mankind in it's nature is evil , selfish and cruel. It's amazing that we are as civil as we are IMO.

Well you use Egypt as an example but they had slaves. Environment is key yes. If you take away positive influences and had only bad you would have no good people. Mankinds nature is selfish, "survival of the fittest" if you will. It is not generous, gracious or peaceful. If we had no guidelines or principles to live by there would be chaos and constant warring. I argue that mankind is sinful by nature of course you know my stance so I won't preach. I think when you say evil things perhaps you are thinking of doing something to protect yourself or loved ones that hurts others,I do not feel that it is evil to do that. Doing something willful to hurt another is evil IMO.
