Update on Russian crashes: explosives found

A Web site connected to Islamic militants published a statement on Friday — signed the "Islambouli Brigades" — The statement said five "mujahedeen" — holy fighters — were aboard each plane. It said the two planes were downed as part of a series of operations "to extend support and victory to our Muslim brothers in Chechnya and other Muslim areas which suffer from Russian faithlessness."

MOSCOW, Russia (CNN) -- Traces of explosives have been found in the wreckage of one of the two Russian passenger jets which crashed Tuesday, killing 89 people aboard, Russia's top intelligence agency says.

The FSB confirmed that a Chechen woman was on board the Siberia Airlines flight, and no friends or relatives had come forward. Her remains have not been found.

She is the only passenger on the flight that has not been inquired after.

According to Russian media reports quoting security sources and Chechnya's interior minister, a Chechen woman also boarded the first plane that crashed, a Volga-Avia Express Tupolev 134.

The Grozny resident, born in 1977, was the last passenger to board the Tu-134 and had purchased her ticket an hour before the flight departed.

No friends or relatives have inquired about her remains, which have also not been located, according to the media reports. She is also the only passenger on that flight that no one has claimed.

Smells like a conspiracy. The truth is they were Israeli Mosad agents trying to make Muslims look bad. Yeah thats the ticket...

Well, honestly, there's not been much in the way of designer wear to come out for Muslims in a long time. The traditional dress could use a little modernization.......really, there no place for you to clip on your cell phone or plam pilot.

Well, I have to admit that a non-terrorism angle to this story would not have surprised me...

An aquaintance of mine regularely goes back to Russia to visit his family and has told me the planes over there, specially the ones for internal flights, are death traps...

When the news about the downes planes hit, my initial reaction was not terrorism, it was "well, their shoddy maintenance is finally catching up to them"...

Now the news says it is islamic terrorism after all... chalk one more up for the "religion of peace"...

I would say it's paranoia except two flights at once? The odds are impractical for that.
