LOVE vs HATE
I was thinking this weekend about why America is so successful even though people want to say we are young and bash us in every way possible.
I personally feel that Americans are not haters, most of the things we do as a collective people are compassion driven and selfless. Which leads to my initial question why are we so successful? We fight for the right reasons, for love mostly. The love of our family, their safety, love of country, love of God and helping others, full of conviction .........things worth fighting for.
Then there is hate which in my opinion is our continuous advisary. Hate is weak, self serving, devoid of conviction.
The bottom line is love will beat hate hands down. Love= good Hate=bad
Love is more powerful than hate.
Now there will be a bunch of people who will want to cut and paste crap or site various "atrocities" committed by our country. In its' totality America is a GOOD nation with GOOD people full of LOVE for it's fellow man.
Anyone who disagrees with that statement , please leave and help make our nation even better than it is already.

The people want to be good.......it's the presidents and generals that make us do the wrong things. EVil people with power.

Can evil serve the good of mankind?

Sure it can.......you look at GW and you say to yourself......."God I hope I never get to be like that asshole".

I see your point but there are the haves and the have nots, we are the have nots. It has been that way since the beginning of time. There will always be the kennedy & bush families of the world.

1Victor I have to agree with you, Americans are in general a nation of people that respect the values I agree with.Your heart is in the right place, so to speak.
If I were asked tomorrow to make a decision if I would stay in line with the EU or on the side of the US there would be no hesitation on my part, I would join you guys any time.
Your biggest problem is (and I only figured that one out when I visited the US) is the fact the your country is so Big... You forget there is more to the world than the US; if I always lived there I would probably feel the same.
Unfortunately over here in Europe you drive for two hours and you are speaking another language.
I was in the US for 3 weeks (my wife's American) and I never heard news from anywhere else in the world.
So Victor, your country is lovely - great people, nice food, Budweiser sucks.
Jump on the plane and come and see Europe for 4 weeks and you will understand what I am talking about.

I have heard from my mother who traveled a lot in Europe that it is confusing from time to time, different languages (used to be different moneys too). Yes we see things on a grander scale because we are a large nation. I honestly feel that we try to help out the "little" guys so to speak. Do we set our agenda ahead of others at times? YES. But I don't know of many nations that wouldn't.
Badger I voted and you know who I voted for, I have no problem with letting the powerful rule. Anyone without it would be useless in Washington anyway. My sight are set on things unseen and unheard............that is where my prize is. This is a layover nothing more.

Well do you think The UK gov't officials aren't old money and powerful? Self serving etc.......? It is the nature of the beast absolute power corrupts absolutley. You will be hard pressed to find ANY gov't in the world that doesn't have corruption and lies running ramant through it. Do you honestly believe that these people are selfless and serving the needs of others? WHERE DO YOU GUYS COME FROM? I live on earth............................where humans live.

Whether we are haters or lovers one thing is clear. We go against the teachings of Jesus. Especially our leaders that claim to be christian.
01-19-2005, 09:55 AM #30
way too simplistic in these troubled times....how old are you?

Obvious NOT old enough. Common sense prevails not philosophy. Jesus did not say let yourselves be slaughtered in my name, as important as what he said is what he did not say. Do you think God wants us to be slaughtered? No sit by and watch as nations kill people and say we cannot interevene we must turn the other cheek? No he wants us to help one another, even at our own personal cost, which we do, over and over.
We are the MOST selfless nation on this planet. And you are a fool.

How that equates to the US having military bases around the world, I guess only you know.
Yes, for a limited time if you act like a turtle and keep your head in your shell you will be safe. But eventually you will have to pay the piper.
It is also easier, having this turtle attitude and having a large country right next to you that doesn't keep their head in their shell.
How old are you?

I think you both need to cool down, gather your thoughts, and come back later.
Just my opinion

you are a liar, you are not 38... looked at someones profile huh? Pretty transparent.
Singern I appreaciate the thought but the last time this clown was on he started trouble too. I guarantee he is under 18 if not, he is mentally challenged in some way. Either way he is a pain.
