There is no God...PROOF
Now I got ur attention, what would all you lot who belive in a god do if it was proved beond any doubt that he/she/it doesnt exist ?
03-20-2005, 10:28 AM #2
Some people will believe no matter what you show them..and some won't. I can't think of way to absolutely prove something like that though.

Im not a beliver. But it would still be a sad day for me

They would probably create another god, like the 100,s or thousands already created throughout history.

I would be paranoid that God was testing us. To see how many of us would loose faith.
03-20-2005, 11:50 PM #15
you could never prove that to me
03-21-2005, 12:06 AM #16
i agree with HOP....
cant prove it...
but...i would go into a deep depression and feeling of hopelessness

Out of ignorance, preachers used to say that Hell was underground and that Heaven was a short distance above the clouds. Now they tell ya it's in some phantom dimension somewhere--again, out of ignorance. They don't really know; they've never seen it, never known anyone who's been there, never observed or measured a "soul" but they tell each other that things they've never seen, smelled, tasted, heard, or felt assuredly exists.
Ya, right . . .
Fundamentalist Christianity is a religion based on fiction, intended to control people through fear of the unknown, all for the purpose of producing revenue for religious corporations. Its god promises to toss the vast majority into the "fiery flames of eternal hellfire and brimstone," including nurses, teachers, doctors, loving mothers who sacrificed their lives for their children and doting fathers who gave their lives so that others might live, all for the mere offense of harboring an honest doubt. Instead, on their deathbeds, murderers, rapists, war criminals, and child molesters can be forgiven lifetimes of crime and disgusting activities upon "accepting Christ as their saviour."
Bible ethics suck. Bible stories are bizarre fiction. Its gods are petty dweebs, and those who worship them need psychoanalysis.
There is no corroborating evidence for the Exodus tale, where over half the population of Egypt left the country, taking untold riches with them, and ended up destroying the Egyptian army. Lots of other detailed information has been found regarding the Egyptians of the time period in question, but there is a conspicuous lack of mention of this staggering event in Egyptian records, as well as the records of other neighboring civilizations. Why? Because the event never happened. The tale, like most of everything else in the bible, is 100% Pure unadulterated crap.
I've got good news for you . . . there is no afterlife, there is no punishment. Once you kick off, that's it . . .

Yeah if it were today and a guy walked on water and raised dead people and turned water into wine it would be on ever news channel in every country...

Religion is a freaking joke IMHO, but I do have faith and believe
there is much more beyond our realm of understanding and the
whole thing about having faith without ever seeing proof is the
test that so many never seem to be able to understand... But I'm
not one to preach or try to influence anyone, so believe whatever
you want... I for one believe, even though I know I don't live my life
the way it's suppose to be, meaning I have a hard time with both
my good and evil sides fighting over control and choosing my paths...

So now we have made the point that we can never prove there isnt a god. For all of you who do believe, wheres your proof that there is a god ????
And dont say the bible cos its a load of bullsh1t

Religion doesn't do much to civilize people . . .

Well, if the Bible says over half the population of Egypt left the country and also got the Egyptian army destroyed, since there's lots of archeological records from the time period in question, there really ought to be some mention of this catastrophic event (from the Egyptian's point of view, of course).
But since the only place this story is found is within the pages of the Old Testament, I'd say the tale is a mere work of fiction, and is certainly not a reliable source of information for anything . . .
But then, some people base their lives on everything that TV characters, actors, and other "manufactured" celebrities say and do, so I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised by what folks do with religion . . .

But lets just say I got a crowd of 1 million people together and started to fly before there eyes. Thats proof that I done it. But lets say i fell flat on my arse. Im sure over the course of a few thousand years that, just like a game of chinese whispers it would be a completly different story to the original.

Thats why it's called faith. Either you believe or you don't. I believe.
03-22-2005, 12:15 PM #37
faith wont get anybody anywhere exept there coffin at the end of a wasteful life having "faith" in some bullsh1t religion/cult thing. Only the worms and insects will be with us at the very end
03-22-2005, 12:46 PM #38
thing is, even if i didnt have faith, id still live the same as i do now..so its not like im missing out on something by having faith.
03-22-2005, 01:16 PM #39
Simple and to the point... And I agree... Faith is something only
the strongest of heart, mind, body and soul can acheive, because
you don't have proof laid out infront of you to make it easy... Faith
is a test and one to many fail... And I'm not just taling about God...
It applies to all aspects of your life... Faith, real faith builds strength...
