I bought some GREAT BOOKS today!!
So, my mechanic is a christian. I dont think he knows I am. We never talked about it, but one time when I dropped off my car, he was on the phone scheduling his college classes, all religious classes at a christian college. Well, he has been great! Never overcharges, tells me exactly whats wrong, and what could be fixed later and what needs to be fixed now. The first time ive ever had my parts cost more than my labor!! wow huh! so anyway, hes looked at my wife and I's cars a lot. Nothing big, just little stupid stuff. Always been good, so we decided that wed get him a gift certificate to the christian bookstore as a token of appreciation thing. Well, I couldnt help myself and bought some too.
first I picked up the 1 year chronological bible. Very cool, every book and every verse in the order of when it happened. So it skips around the books and verses some but it helps a lot knowing a chronological order.
2nd I picked up the 'interlinear greek-english new testament"! This is a prize possession of books i picked up today. 3 collumns. in the left collumn has the updated edition of "A literal Translation of the Holy Bible". The center column is the Greek Textus Receptus with a word for word translation under the greek.
and on the right column, it has the KJV. The KJV is good only for reference. I want to get more meaning out of the greek text and use the rest as a good reference. But ill be able to go deeper into meanings using both.
and i got 2 macarthur new testament commentaries. Romans 1-8 and phillipians. These are books that explains verse by verse the verses..(thats a lot of usage of that word..hehe). it gives historic background, in depth explanations, etc. to give you a thought of how these are, romans chapter 1-8 is 500 pages long! wow.
well, im gonna go play some halo. have a good night. just wanted to share my good purchases. Im sure the christians will be more interrested than most here....but im excited so i posted. good night.

havnt given the mechanic the gift yet. I dont want him to feel he has to do special or free stuff to our cars because we gave him a gift. so we get back in town in 2 weeks, we are going to have him look at our newest car to make sure its sound, and then when we pick it up, we'll give him the gift certificates. I think he'll like them. first being a christian, 2nd taking religious classes in school, so i think he could use them.
bah, gotta run to class.. later.
