Your country's military, questions.
Being from the US, and prior service, I know about our military. I wanted to know about other conuntries' military. like is it mando or voluntary? do people consider it a good job? is it hard work, long hours? does pretty much everyone learn to fight and get training enough that they would know what to do in an invasion or just the "fighting jobs" know how to fight? how is the money? those kinda questions.
as for the states and from my pov, its voluntary. most of the people in the air force consider it a good job. i dont know thoughts from the other services since i wasnt around them that much to know. air force for the most part work a 9 hour day with an hour lunch. some jobs work shift work where they work like 3 days on, 1 day off, 3 days on, 2-3 days off where they might work noon to 9pm for 3 days and then like 9pm to 6am the next 3 days. or some variation of that shift work. some people like that, some dont. some can get used to the different sleep times is basically what it comes down to. good thing is you always have your days. every job ive been around in the airforce, and id say ive been around a lot, most, the jobs arent hard work. it may seem like it some days, you may be busy, but its not that hard really. in the airforce, the only people who know how to fight is the police and the para rescuemen and combat controllers (which are the AF special forces). other than that, the air force doesnt even give gun quals to you. i got qualified when i was in basic, and that was the only time in my 6 years that i touched a gun because military told me i could or had to (i did on my own). and money is good. in the first couple years, its nothing special, but once you make a few ranks and arent in training, money is good i think. my friend for example was in the military, enlisted, supported a wife that didnt work and 4 kids. and they were never without anything really. not to say that depending on what job you have on the inside, that you cant make more on the outside. some jobs you can make 3x the amount as a civilian (computers, linguists, etc). some jobs you make more on the military side than a civilian (emt type people, perhaps mp's??, etc) but all in all, airforce is just like a business job pretty much. go to work, work a 9-5 job, go home, and you're done with military...go out to eat, go to the gym, watch tv, whatever.

We have two different militaries. The Russian controlled and influenced Chechan army, and the Resistance army. These two armies fight each other everytime, although they are both armies of Chechnya. The Russian-Chechen Army is paid, not very well and have benefits. The Resistance army is voluntary, with equipment and rations supplied by outside sources, mainly Turkey, Gulf Arab States, Georgia, and other Caucus states.
The resistance army is better equiped than the Russia/Chechen army because Russia doesnt equip its mercenary Chechen army with good weapons because they think that these people might take the weapons and turn rebel.

the lebanese army is very good in artillery actually an artillery calculation formula made by a lebanese officer is still used in the USA artillery mashines, other divisions are pretty weak exept the special forces they are trained very well. Payment is good but only for officers , officers in the lebanese army are classy they get paid a lot and dont do too hardwork.
Serving in the army for one year was mandatory for every male unless he was studying or having a health excuse , but now it have been canceled.
Hezbollah the resistance work side by side with the lebanese army , in fact during the attacks on the "israeli" forces in south lebanon the lebanese army used to deliver artillery support to hezbollah members during their offense.

I wouldn't say people hate us but yes, some do, he is right...
But for a country our size, our military is a joke...
Sure, our peace keeping missions are amongst the finest in the world...
But our military is pretty weak...

Even the Syrians when they were in Lebanon wouldn't maintain a presence down the south. If the Leb army opened up on Israeli targets it would be a declaration of war and Israel would destroy you in a heart beat.

Sweden has a very small military. Only for defense and after the fall of the soviet union it has become heavily dismantled.
We have a tiny navy centered in the baltic sea only with the purpose of inflicting as much causalties as possible on a invading fleet(without any hope to realy stop it I recon). We have a high tech navy though. Like the stealth destroyers in development and the best non nuclear subs in the world.
Our airforce is small aswell but like the navy pretty high tech. For a while in the 60's or so we had the 4th most powerfull airforce but obviousky that isnt the case anymore the JAS fighter jets are pretty good though from what I can tell.
Army I dont know anything about.
