Its left us with nothing better to do than pick on smaller guys with money in their pockets. When I mean smaller guys I mean Arabic countries, and when I mean money I mean oil, and when I mean pockets I mean land.

From the beginning of humanity the world still living the anarchy theory where every state seek to be more powerful than its foes and if it don't have the capability to be more powerful it align with a stronger state, during the cold war the world witnessed many alignment with the victorious of the WWII either with the USA or with the USSR some states evaded the bandwagon choice so it don't get sucked into the west or east camp, after the cold war things have changed and the European countries agreed on the Maastricht treaty to establish a single economic union. the western great powers like uk, France and other powerful European country broke the alignment, agreed on the Maastricht Treaty and begin to make a new balance of power, some countries like Egypt bandwagoned with the cold war victorious and now we can see that some countries managed to make a balance of power like the EU and china and some countries still aligned with the cold victorious and cant break off this alignment due to economical and political reasons, USA is now the only superpower in the world, we have a new uni-polar system where USA is the leader and the UN is just a puppet.
