    Euthanasia

Are you in favor against, euthanasia, or against. Discuss your reasons.

It's hard to present a good arguement against euthanasia that doesn't involve some sort of religious stand point. If not for morals inherent to ones own religion, no one really has a valid arguement euthanasia barring some sort of psychological condition or illness. Aside from that, I don't see why someone who WILL die in a matter of days or hours can't be put out of his or her misery.

Technically, its against my religion but I'm not religious so I believe fully in one's right to choose. However, this doesn't mean that I support suicide for someone who simply wants to check-out. If one is suffering from a terminal illness and the pain is simply unbearable, then yes, I believe it should be up to the person who is living the nightmare.

I have nothing against it. If a person feels its there time to pass because they cant live with a pain or disability no one should tell them otherwise. If I ended up paralysed from the neck and down for instance I would want to die. I dont se why I shouldnt be allowed to make that chooise.

I think we all agree that it should be allowed.

But, what would ya'll think of a 3 to 6 month waiting period just to ensure the person doesn't change their mind

If the pain is that severe someone might not want to wait 3-6 months. However, there is always the hope that a cure could become available.

It's not like they're gonna live to regret it

I think a waiting time would be a good thing. Desperat people might plead for things they would regreat if they could live to regreat it.

Also if a patient requests it a doc shouldnt have to do it. that would be unethical.
