True Muslims Support Israel
Finally, some Arab-Muslims who truly represent Islam. I've been bombarded with anti-Israel, anti-Zionist rhetoric from "Muslims" on the forum. Time for some real Muslims to show what is possible. It's a great site. Definitely worth looking at. It really shows the true side of devout Muslims; that is, loving, tolerant, understanding.
Great Story below

we have no-idea who is behind arabs for israel anyone can register a url, it's probably a sham..concokted by non-arab supporters of israel..there are arabs who favor the 2 state solution..but I don't think there are any out there apologizing for israles current policies..
there are however numerous anti-zionist jew organizations, for example:
notice the difference between nkusa/jnz and arabs for israel; afi just has a bunch of letters they claim were written by arabs and emailed to them(and how would they know who wrote them) they have no real contact information other than an email address..
nkusa and jnz have real names/addresses/contact info, radio shows, picts of protests that they have held-they are real organizations..
even if afi is real-it's following is so negligable to the point of irrelivance.

Nonie Darwish is a freelance writer for the online journal, FrontPageMag.com, edited by David Horowitz. A convert to Christianity, she claims she is the daughter of a non-Palestinian "shahid" (martyr). Darwish blames "the Middle Eastern Islamic culture" for her father's death and to avenge it, she has adopted a mission to "expose Moslem culture and Islamic fundamentalists."

She's still an Arab for Israel! So, before everyone jumps to the section...my bad for using Muslim when I should have used Arab-Egyptian/Palestinian.

Chew on this one instead. It's the point I was trying to get across
Before anyone tries to bash the source: Pipes is the founder and director of the Middle East Forum, a former member of the presidentially-appointed board of the U.S. Institute of Peace, and a regular columnist for the New York Sun and The Jerusalem Post. He contributes regularly to David Horowitz's online publication FrontPageMag.com, and has had his work published by many newspapers across North America, including the Washington Post, New York Times, and Wall Street Journal.
He is frequently invited to discuss the Middle East on American network television, as well as by universities and think tanks, has appeared on the BBC and Al Jazeera, and has lectured in 25 countries.

She is a deciever. She acts like she is muslim in the sites you posted and on the AFI site. But her main goal is to attack Islam and Muslims. She is right there with Joseph Farah, both bigots. Her father is probably rolling over in his grave right now.
I am sure she is making this whole story up about her father. When in fact all she is, is a Coptic Christian from Egypt.
And no true Muslim would support the current state of Israel, its not possible.

What about these Muslims that support the "zionist" Daniel Pipes? Are you going to tell me all of these MUSLIMS are against Israel when they openly support Pipes?
Letter of Endorsement
Muslims' Letter of Endorsement
STATEMENT OF MUSLIM SUPPORT FOR PIPES APPOINTMENT TO USIP BOARD
The undersigned endorse President Bush's nomination of Daniel Pipes, to the board of the U.S. Institute of Peace.
We believe the nomination is a positive action, and urge Senate confirmation, because:
Dr. Pipes has demonstrated wide expertise in the study of Islamic history and politics, working with original source materials in languages which he has mastered.
The USIP board is an appropriate place for his sometimes controversial views to be examined and debated.
Organizations identified with an Islamist perspective have expressed their opposition to his appointment, claiming to speak on behalf of all Muslims. We wish to make clear that they represent an extremist viewpoint that does not represent all or even a majority of American Muslims.
Whether one agrees or disagrees with Dr. Pipes, and some of us do strenuously disagree with aspects of his work, his views are part of the mainstream of debate on Middle East and Islamic issues, and they deserve to be heard in the USIP context.

And this MUSLIM?
EDITOR OF "MUSLIM WORLD TODAY"
SPEAKS OUT ON ISLAMIST THREAT
As a historian, current affairs expert and specialist in Islamic, Western and South Asian Affairs, Tashbih Sayyed, has written extensively on issues concerning the Middle East, India-Pakistan relations and the struggle between Islam and the West.
Mr. Sayyed has been on the forefront of the fight against the increasing influence of extremist wings of Islam and their impact on world peace. He has spoken out publicly on the growing Islamist threat to world peace and Iran’s and Saudi Arabia’s contribution towards its spread.
A Threat to the Islamic Establishment
A frequent target of Islamists and Moslem fundamentalists for his views on Israel, Jews and Saudi Arabia’s role in the spread of religious extremism in the world, his enemies have been running a campaign to silence him and his news-paper, Pakistan Today. As a regular columnist for leading papers and journals, Sayyed has been outspoken on the seriousness of the Islamist threat to the U.S.
Speaking three languages -- English, Urdu and Punjabi -- he has studied Political Science, History and International Relations in Pakistan, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. In addition, he has taught Political Science and International Relations in Universities in Pakistan, and has been a regular speaker on the Israel-Palestine Conflict, Indo-Pakistan Relations, Afghanistan and India-China Affairs.
Formerly Mr. Sayyed headed the Current Affairs Department of Pakistan Television and traveled extensively in the Middle East, Europe and Asia. As a television director and producer, he has produced hundreds of popular programs and talk shows in Pakistan. As a host and the writer of a weekly current affairs program, “The World Tonight”, telecast in Pakistan, India and Bangladesh, his research and insight into events shaping the political trends in the region have been widely acknowledged. His documentaries on Muslim culture and politics have also been very well received by a cross section of viewers in Pakistan, India and Bangladesh.
Author of Books on Mohammed & Moslem Extremism
In his forthcoming book on Mohammed, Sayyed deals with the life of the prophet of Islam in a very secular manner, analyzing his life and politics as a worldly man with the objective of correcting the Muslim tradition of treating their history as theology. He believes that the manipulation of Muslim history and holy scriptures by Islamists is the root cause of today’s Islamic extremism. His latest book, “The Scorpion’s Shadow”, (soon to be published) is an overview of the history of Moslem extremism and an inquiry into the reasons for the rise of militancy in Islam.
A dynamic speaker, Tashbih Sayyed presents his case as a moderate Moslem with both intellectual rigor and passion.

So, how is it impossible to be a Muslim and support Israel?
And this religious Muslim scholar?
DR. ABDULLAH HAMID
Former Member of Radical Egyptian Islamist Terrorist
Organization, Jaama Islameia, and a Personal Acquaintance of
Dr. Al Zawaheri, Today the 2nd in Command of Al Qu’eda.
Now Dr. Hamid is a Courageous Reformer of Islam.
Based on his language-based interpretation of the Qur’an,
he and his followers believe that the Land of Israel belongs to the Jews. He is pro-Israel and also has sound logic and the authority of Qur’anic verses for this position.
Dr. Hamid was born to a secular family in Egypt and eventually was attracted to religion when he discovered God through his scientific and mathematical studies. His early experience of reading and meditating on the Qur’an & other Islamic books led him to embrace Islam originally in a fundamentalist interpretation. Initially, as a young man, he was deeply involved with religious extremists and their radical and violent Islamist teachings. “When I did this I thought that this was the best way to please Allah,” said Hamid.
One of these radical groups was Jamaa Islameia, the group founded by Alzawaheri, who is now, years later, the second in command of worldwide Al Quaeda . Dr Hamid was a personal acquaintance of Dr. Alzawaheri. “ From this vantage point, I was able to observe the development of Islamist radicalism first hand. Our dream, in those misguided days, was to develop into a global movement attempting to dominate the entire world and to convert Western Civilization to the rule of Shariah, or Islamic law.”
Reforming Islam from Within
“Eventually I had to break with the extremists. I gradually came to see that they advocated disrespect toward other religions, hatred to non-Muslims and the use of physical violence to take over the world – all contrary to many explicit verses in the Qur’an.”
In time Dr. Hamid developed a peaceful sect within Islam. His reform approach attracted interest from large numbers in Egypt -- especially when he preached his deeply spiritual understanding of Islam in mosques. Regretably, his initial attempt to reform the religion was aborted and had to be abandoned when Islamic fundamentalists threatened his life and attacked him physically. As he said, “they ran after me in the streets of Cairo stoning me after I led a Friday prayer in the mosque, whose purpose was to promote peace, love, and harmony”.
At this period he read the Bible with the expressed purpose of refuting its claims -- but he discovered, much to his surprise, that he was impressed by many of the meanings and the peaceful worldview, which was more to his liking. In the spiritual approach that he began developing, he incorporated teachings of a peaceful version of Islam. Along with this he taught various spiritual insights and teachings gleaned from Judaism and Christianity. This is in keeping with Mohammed’s own approach, in which he, from the earliest stages of Islam incorporated spiritual teachings and practices of Judaism and Christianity, Islam’s sister religions.
His new approach to Islam is based essentially on a close reading of the Qur’an to determine its original meaning, and at the same time learning from the great insights of other religions. Dr. Hamid’s is one of the few sects in Islam that attempts to make peace in the Middle East, both between Muslims and Israelis, as well as within Islam itself, among the various sects and groupings.
Fleeing Egypt for Freedom
After years of attempting to reform the religion he came to know and love, he eventually found that his very life and that of his family was threatened by religious and political extremists. Realizing the mortal danger he was in, he decided to emigrate to the West where he could pursue his medical career and develop the spiritual approach to G-d that he is committed to.
Abroad, Dr. Hamid has been involved in interfaith activities with Christianity, Judaism and with other religions. Based on his language-based interpretation of the Qur’an, he and his followers believe that the Land of Israel belongs to the Jews. He is pro-Israel and also has sound logic and the authority of Qur’anic verses for this position.
“The first time I visited a synagogue I could not stop my tears. I was listening to the ‘hymn of glory’, and I discovered people who truly worship God and want peace for the whole world. It was then that I realized why the Qur’an described the children of Israel as the “Guiding lights for humanity” (Sura Al Sajdah 32:24) As its says, “And We made of them (the children of Israel) Guiding Lights and leaders to guide by Our command as they were patient, and they were certain of Our communications.”
Some of the key teachings which Dr. Hamid advocates are:
Islamic Fundamentalism is the most dangerous threat to our human civilization -- and if we do not confront it now it will confront us later on.
If the Arabs tried to give their hands full of love, peace, and flowers to the Jews they will have hundreds of Jewish hands given to them with more love, more peace, and more flowers.
If Muslims themselves who demonstrated in thousands to get more civil rights in USA or to stop the ban on the Islamic scarf in France do not demonstrate with the same passion and in the same numbers against the terrorists, terrorism will never end.

Yes, a Muslim
"The writer is editor-in-chief of Muslim World Today and Pakistan Today, California-based weekly newspapers, president of Council for Democracy and Tolerance and adjunct fellow of Hudson Institute.
I consider the rebirth of the Jewish State to be a blessing for the Muslims. Israel has provided the opportunity to show the world the results of the Jewish state of mind in action...a mind that yearns to be free, and a mind that longs to see that all humanity enjoys life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."
