The real one, not the movie. what are your thoughts on it?
believe it, don't believe it, some of it's true you think, etc.
don't ruin this thread with BS either thanks

basically it's an idea that someone thought of a long time ago and now someone (Dan Brown) wrote it. I havnt read it but wanted to know more about it that's all.

Although the book is very interesting and exciting, it is full of BS. In the begining of the bokk where it list the "facts". These "facts" are complete bs. The book is based off of ideas originally printed in the 1980s best seller, "Holy Blood,Holy Grail.". Holy Blood, Holy Grail was based off of a hoax that a man named Pierre Plantard made up. He later renounced the whole thing publicly, and it was proven to be a hoax. Watch a show that talks about the book on the History Channel, and you will see what I'm talking about.

What's wrong with the movie? I was looking in the "SPECIAL INTERESTS" section @ Blockbuster and I ran into that movie. I almost got it.
I don't have the time right now to read the book. Should I not even bother?

all the stuff about the gnostic the scrolls from nag hammadi are true .
the stuff about the origins of the new testament stuff are true
as in the emporer constantine oversaw the writing of the newtestament many years after christs death to unite the people who all had different beleifs

I think it will probably be a good movie... and i would suggest it to people probably except for the fact that they are trying to pass what they present as facts.... the way they write it is as though it was fact. but when they are questioned about it, they basically say "read the small print" that this is a fiction book. Its like those commercials "blah blah blah" and then it flashes super small print on the screen for half a second that says "everything this commercial says is a lie".

all that is false. jesus never had a wife. there was no wife sitting next to him at the last supper. its all pretty ridiculous. its like conspiracy theories without proofs...

It directly contradicts what we know to be true about historical christianity.

it is like conspiracy theories, based on one mans imagination of history

The Last Supper: Is the painting you are reffering to and Mary Magdelene is the Prostitute he apparently married. It does seem to be blasphemous and farfetched if you ask me but I couldnt approve or diapprove the claims. I would think there would be much contraversy but there hasnt been much really, literally to bringing the Church and Catholicism down. I do beleive in the general idea surrounding secret societies, manipulation of the church and so on but to interpret the painting of Da Vinci, using cryptology and so, seems out of place.
Good book nonetheless.
