weight for a newbie? I've only recently added snatches to my workouts and have wondered if I should go lighter until my technique is better, I started using 115lbs for reps.

well what i can describe is that a good snatch requires, a bar who has its bothe extremities rotating, good warming up, a good starting position, the back always curves, lift up the bat to the hip with relaxed arms until the drop to the hip, then pull the bar up with elbows always higher and when the elbows at max height start to get yourself under the bar... in the begining stary snatch without dropping on the hip, then, power snatch is good, and afterwards snatch in squatting is good.
all throughout the movement the bar must travel as close to the body as possible.
Are you inquiring as to technique or training load?
one that doesn't talk back and goes right to bed after abusing it
Both I guess, technique to start and training load second. It just seems light but I work bb snatch 3x a week, is that too often? Should I go heavier and work out 2x instead?Quote:

me i do it 5 times a week as im weightlifter.. the snatch is a good exercise, it works many muscle parts and is a dynamic exercise, so up to u to see whether 2x or 3 x
describe your snatch, from the floor or hanging position, do you stop like a power clean motion and then press or do you fling it up into the air and stop in an overhead squat position and then stand?
I try to snatch like this: www.angelfire.com/nj/sports22/technique.htmlQuote:

I did 40 reps with 100lbs with less then 30sec. every ten reps. My technique seems solid.
I cannot believe it took 4 posts to go thereQuote:
